Venice Birdnest.

The paper, ribbon, trim and pearls are all from the newest 123Create Kit called Venice and is available in limited quantities at Flourishes right now.   The stamps are the Spring Is Sprung and Life Lines.

Love makes it all grow...

It seems like it was just yesterday that my mom and I were planning our garden. I loved to plant it but weeding was a different story.  We would spend hours picking and canning all our veggies.  This past summer my daughter and I planned our garden and so the tradition continues.
This adorable image is Sprout from Mo's Digital Pencil.  This week's challenge over at Mo's is to create a card with distressing. I distressed each edge of my cardstock and then also used distress inks to sponge around each piece.

Sprout1.
I picked out some Scrabble tiles from an old game my kids used to have.  Many pieces were missing but luckily LOVE remained.  I used some beautiful vine ribbon from May Arts and created some rolled flowers with ribbon.  I designed my own paper with the word love on some Kraft and printed it out.

What A Catch

Watch A Catch Sneak

It's time for another new release teaser.. Today we are celebrating all the men in our lives with the new set called What A Catch.

What A Catch

I combined two of the stamps from this set.  The hat and bag are two different stamps.  I masked the bag to stamp the hat.  I stamped on watercolor paper and used reinkers to paint my image.  I used some old designer paper I have had in my stasth.  I added some Mosaic Tiles to the top for a bit of an embellishment.

This set will go live in the store at 9 a.m. CST today.  Then be sure to stop by the Flourishes blog at 12:00 p.m. CST today for an out of the box challenge that will have some lucky winner walking away with the entire new release.

WeddedBliss2.

The first set we are releasing is so beautiful. It is perfect for anniversaries, weddings, and engagements.  I chose the Save The Date sentiment and created a romantic card using the toasting silhouette couple.  I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and embossed to give it a rich look. I used my Grand Calibur to cut out my On The Vine Border. I used my Fluer De Lis Rectangle Spellbinder Dies for the matting of my image.  I then added some ribbon, a stick pin and some black rhinestones to finish it off.

Words To My Mother

It is time for Flourishes Release Week Challenge.  This month the challenge is "Words To Your Mother".  Create a card with a sentiment as your main element.  Make it something you would love to say to your mother in honor of Mother's Day. Then upload to to the Flourishes blog for a chance to win the entire new release.
PreRelease5-6.

This next week our family will be celebrating the graduation of my oldest daughter from the College of Business at University of IL. I am very proud out her and know that my mom is going to be "with" us in spirit that day.  If she were here she would say these very words to my daughter.  So on that special day in memory of my mom I will give this card to my daughter.  My mom was always such a big part of my life and helped me live my dreams.
Love you mom and miss you.

For this card I chose Flourishes sentiment set called Life Lines. The designer paper is from the Pixie Paper Pad.  I added some pearls and pink plaid ribbon to my card.

I used the Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle dies for my card base. I just folded my paper and placed my die above the fold on one end. I love the way this worked.  Then I added some pink leave cut with the On The Vine Border Grand Dies from Spellbinders. I cut everything out using my Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine.

BIG NEWS over at the Flourishes blog so be sure to check it out.. AND here is what the rest of the design team came up with for you:

    Thank You

    HelloHycInsert.

It's time for another Friday Focus over at Flourishes.  This week I chose to
use the newly released set Hello Hyacinth.. Don't forget that this is the last day to get your New Release Bundle Package at 10% off. I watercolored this image with some Tim Holtz reinkers.  I wanted to try the TLC over on Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge was to try this cute little folded card.

    HelloHycClosed.

It took me several tries to get this right. I love it though.  You definitely have to use a thin sheet of paper and make sure the folds are really straight..

    HelloHycOpen.

Then once you untie the ribbon you see your little card inside.

Want to give this a try??  Karen has an amazing and easy to follow video on her
    blog.. Check it out HERE

Also...Don't forget that we are having a Christmas Spirit challenge over on Splitcoaststampers too.  Create a Christmas card using the colors Red, Pink and White.  You have until the end of February.  HERE are the details.   Create a card and upload to SCS for a chance to win a Flourishes Christmas stamp set.  Here is mine:

    Watercolored Hyacinth

This last week my son was really sick with the flu and he wanted me to sit with him.  I love it when that happens. :)  While I sat there I started thinking I need to watercolor an image.  I have not done that in awhile.  This is the newly released set from Flourishes.  I just love the Hyacinth image.  These are the most fragrant flowers.  My daughter had them in her hair one year for prom.  They were dipped in wax and oh my..

    FromDeskNW.

This second card was also watercolored.  I love the soft feel of this stamp.  My dad gave me the best birthday present ever.  All I asked for was for him to sit down and WRITE out his favorite memories.  It was 9 pages long and so special.  We have lost the art of handwriting anymore.  Here in North Carolina they don't even teach cursive writing at my son's school.  I will treasure my handwritten letter forever.

The crocheted heart is from my sweet design team friend Stacy.

This is the second set released from Flourishes called From The Desk Of.

You can find both sets HERE and don't forget about the New Release Bundle -- where you can get both sets bundled together at 10% off! The Flourishes DT is back with another creation showcasing these sets today:

    Flourishes New Release Day 2

Welcome to day two of Flourishes New Release.  Today we
are bringing to you the new set called From The Desk Of..
The design team has some amazing projects to show you so stay tuned.
    2.

I am starting with the card I created with this set.  I wanted to create a project for my step mom for her birthday.  She loves vintage so I went that route. I used the Basic Grey Curio paper.  Stamped my image on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.
I added some Basic Grey Curio Buttons to the top of my card.  I love these buttons. I added some Natural Linen Ribbon

    FromTheDeskNOTE2

    .

Then I created some little note cards.  Of course her name is not Dawn Burnworth
but I wanted to protect the innocent.. :)  I created a RSVP pen with my designer paper to go with the little note cards.

    FromTheDeskof Cardbox.

Then I created a little holder to put it all together.  This is just a cake box (from my birthday cake yesterday) cut in half and covered with kraft paper and Basic Grey's Curio.
This was a fun project and a recyclable.

It is time for another Flourishes' Friday creation.. I am in love with this new set just release at Flourishes called Love Notes. It is perfect for a music lover like me.. Music just changes my entire mind frame on a bad day..

I used all but one of the stamps in this set for my main image. I did lots of masking.  Stamped my images on a post it note to make it easier.  Colored with W1,W3, R29 from Flourishes Warm Neutrals and Poppy Copics Collections.
I stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. I also used it for some matting.

    ValentinesRobott

This was my original card for today but I messed it up..:( I had it all done and realized I had a smudge.. So it will go to a nonstamper..:)  I used the new set Tokens Of Love.  This robot is so sweet. I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored with copics W1, W3, R81, R83.   I used the metallic silver paper Flourishes carries.. What robot isn't a metallic lover.

    Design Diva's Blog Hop

Recently a group of stamping friends got together on Facebook and created
a group called the Design Divas.  They originated from Splitcoaststampers.
This week the group decided to have a Just For Fun blog hop.. The theme was
    oldies but goodies.

You should have arrived here from Anita's blog.
After this you should journey on to Linda's blog.

This stamp set is one of my favorite Flourishes sets called Poppy Patch.  I wanted to use this set today because as I was digging through my OLD stash trying to decide what to create and I came upon some beautiful designer paper and a punch that my sweet friend Lisa Lara had sent to me.  It was perfect for this set.  I stamped on watercolor paper which I rarely use and colored with my long forgotten SU markers.  Then I found that my old stash of SU River Rock cardstock that I have had for years was the perfect match.

I needed a thank you card for a sweet friend that went above and beyond for me this week...I am blessed by my friends..:)  Thank you Lisa for all these goodies..

Hope you enjoy this fun little blog hop..

    Favorites For Flourishes

Welcome to Day 3 of the new releases over at Flourishes.
    Valentines1

Today the Flourishes Design team is helping the Friends of Flourishes Challenge team celebrate their 100th Challenge.  The FOF team has challenged everyone to create a card using favorites.. Favorite stamps, colors, ribbon...etc.  I chose the newly released set called Tokens of Affection.. This set is available today..:)
I am a huge tea lover. I drink all kinds of tea during the day.  My NY resolution was to give up caffeine and diet Coke.. Yikes.  That was hard.  Luckily they have decaffeinated tea.
So I used my favorite new stamp from Tokens Of Love.  I also chose my favorite color RED.  My favorite shapes are hearts and my favorite ribbon is any kind of gingham.

This was colored with Flourishes Copics collections Poppy and Flesh Tones... I stamped the image on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  The ribbon is May Arts Ruffled Edge Red Gingham.
Check out what the rest of the Flourishes Design Team created.. Then head on over to the Flourishes Blog to see all the details for the Friends of Flourishes challenge..

    Flourishes New Release Day 1

It's the first day of Flourishes New Release.   The first stamp set we are previewing is called Hearts and Flowers.

I chose the heart with the pretty roses.  This sentiment "I Love You" is
perfect for so many different cards.

I stamped the heart from this set twice. I wanted to layer it.  Colored them both with Copics Collection's Poppy and Green Grass after I stamped the images out on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  I used the Basic Grey Curio designer paper for this card.  The ribbon is the two toned peach May Arts Ribbon available in Flourishes store.

    Katie2

This week there is a huge outpouring of love from the stamping community for one of our own.. Katie Renz.  You can read her story HERE on her blog.  I was on a design team with Katie and cannot even imagine what she is going through.  There are several different card drives going on so I thought I would send this card out to her.  I used Flourishes
I Love Roses Set.  The paper is from Basic Grey's Curio line.

I also wanted to play in the teapot Tuesday Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers.  This week Mothermark is honoring Katie and we are all sending our cards to her.  Check out all the details HERE and come play along.  Great group of stampers.

Starting this week Katie's friend Jak Heath has coordinated a big fund raiser to help Katie's family.  Over 16 companies got together and created some goodies for the give away.. You can check out all the details on Jak's blog HERE
