Thanks for Helping Me Grow

It is time for another The Kraft Journal challenge.  Today's challenge is to use flowers on your creation.  I

created this flower pot holder and tag for a teacher's gift.  She used Brown Kraft  Cover Weight cardstock.  The little pot holder was created by cutting 2  strips of paper and then scoring it.  She punched holes in the corners and added pink ribbon to hold it together.  Then she created a tag for the flower pot using the Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and a die to cut it out.  

I chose this adorable Sassy Cheryl's image for my tag. 

This has will be heading to school with my son. He has such an incredible teacher this year.  She has definitely helped him blossom.  Check out the The Kraft Journal Blog for all the rest of the flower creations. 

Catered Crop Ribbon Challenge

It is time for Catered Crop's Challenge.  This week our featured ingredient for our Catered Crop Recipe Swap is Ribbon! Pull out any kind of ribbon you like: seam binding, grosgrain, tulle, fabric, burlap . . . even twine. We love it all!

I chose this adorable image from Sassy Cheryl's digital shop called Noah and his Bunny Bandit.  I used ribbon to create my background "paper".  This image reminds me so much of my son.. 

Playing along is easy as tying a knot.

• Just use a ribbon somewhere in your project. Your project does not have to be a card. Feel free to go crazy.
• Include a link to us at Catered Crop or just add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
• Link up and link often, but be sure o you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, March 17.
• Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.

Funky Prim Annie

 

This has been such a great week.  My girls were all here for the 4th of July.  We celebrated on Lake Norman with lots of boating and swimming. I hope you all had a safe and fun weekend.  This is a card I created with Sassy Cheryl's Digital Image called Funky Prim Annie.

Snow Friends

I wanted to play in a few Splitcoaststamper's challenges today. It is fun to create just for fun sometimes.. I have so many big projects coming up that my brain needed a break.

I used gingham and plaid for the Clean and Simple challenge.. I used a layout out for 

the Featured Stamper challenge which just happens to be my sweet friend and

former dt sister Lynette.. and then I also wanted to play in the Hope You Can Cling to Challenge which was to use buttons.

This sweet image is from Sassy Cheryl's.. I LOVE all of her snowmen. This one is called Cardinal and Snowman. The snowflake is a RAK from my friend Holly Young. She crocheted this one.   I colored my image with copics.

Hope you are all enjoyed your weekend.  It has been a nice long weekend here.

Cooler temps make me think of fall and all the fun things that go with it.  I

Cherry Pie

Sorry I have been MIA... I have been so busy.  I wanted to make a few
cards for some of my featured friends over on SCS.. This is for Pat
Smether's Featured Stamper day a week ago.  I am so far behind...

After I photo'd and watermarked I realized I forgot to color her

It feels so good to photograph my cards with my green outdoor background again..
I have been busy planting my garden and flowers.. I am so sore I 
can barely move..

Distressed Patriotic

This week over at Sassy Cheryl's our challenge was to distress.  I love
this patriotic image.  It is called I Pledge Allegiance.  It is available
over at Sassy Cheryl's HERE. 

It is with much sadness that this will be my last card with Sassy
Cheryl's DT.. I am simplifying my life a bit.  My FIL is fighting 
his battle with cancer and we will be heading home more often
to spend time with him.. This has been an amazing team and I 
really appreciate Cheryl and all of her encouragement and love.  
It most definitely will not be my last SC card.. Family time will
be special but I will miss this weekly stamping.

I am also adding this to the Digital Tuesday challenge...Scrap It.
I used all the scraps from my card to make the stars and the swirls.

I had the privilege and honor of meeting Pat last Christmas.

This is my "try something new" for the month of March.
 My friend Michelle and her mom are always making the
most beautiful quilts..  I tried my hand at quilting.. Don't 
look to close... These are my quilted pot holders.  I made
them for my step mom for her birthday.  I included 2
recipes and a chicken can cooker.  LOL  (it's a Southern
creation). 

She is such a great step mom.. it is tough to come in and be a mom to 8 
kids..:)  She has been a blessing in my life.

Sassy Cheryl's March Winds

I will be away from my blog this week as I enjoy the company
of my dad.We have not seen each other in awhile and I am so
excited.. I thought I would leave you with some pictures from
my garden.. The daffodils are loving the 60 degree weather.

Also had a request to update my calendar.. March is half gone
and I didn't get it done until today.. I wanted to use another
image from Sassy Cheryl's Store.. This is March Winds.. It
reminds me so much of my youngest daughter.. She was
always barefoot.. I love the heart necklace too.. So sweet.

lives not far from me and we are going to get together soon.

I have been working on coloring these new release images from Sassy
Cheryl's..  This one is adorable.. I just love that sweet little mouse 
and the girls braids blowing in the wind..This reminds me so much of
my youngest daughter..  The name of this image is Teacher's Pet.

I am so ready for spring.  This has been such a long winter for all of us.  

This sweet rabbit was  fun to color. I think he is ready for spring too.

This butterfly punch is from my sweet friend Lisa... I have the best

friends.  Yesterday my in box, mailbox and email were all  FULL of 

birthday goodies and wishes..

I will be thanking everyone individually  but wanted to take a minute 

to tell you all that you mean so much to me. My world is better 

just by knowing all of those that visit my blog. 

February Calendar and DT call

I have a few things to share.. This is brief because we still have no
heat.  Yesterday no power.  So my time is limited here...The plows
finally cleared our road after being snowbound for 4 days.  

It is time for another calendar page.. I created one last month with an
adorable image from Cheryl Alger..  This one is also an image from Cheryl.
This one is called Cappuccino Snowman.  

I could not have done this without the help of my sweet friend Cat.. 
She has an awesome calendar template on SCS HERE.  She is so talented 
and is a whiz with these calendar pages..  If you use her calendars PLEASE
