This week it was my hubby's parents anniversary. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. They are the cutest couple. I created this card to send to them. My father in law has had some health issues so they are home bound and love to get mail. My hubby told me the other day my MIL has kept every letter and card I have sent to her. It will be fun to go back someday and read and look at them all. Letter writing is a lost art. My son doesn't even know how to read or write cursive. So sad.
I am still trying to regain my coloring skills. This sweet little image is by Heather Ellis. I love these little ones. I cut the card and envelope using a file from the Silhouette Online Store. I am obsessed.
I even created the envelope using matching papers. I am still learning with my Silhouette Cameo but the possibilities are endless. I saved up for this machine for over a year and love it. It is worth every penny.
I caved and went back to Flickr. I just like the way it displays my photos. I saw over on Splitcoaststampers they have a tutorial on photographing your cards by Joanne Basile. I need to check it out. Here is a link if you are interested: Photo Tutorial.
Hi Dawn! I love PI girls and yours is colored so pretty! And I love the card shape and envelope! I have a Silhouette and don't use it for things like this! Must look at their online store more often!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable, Dawn! Love the sweet image and what you've done with the Cameo! I just knew you were going to be making the cutest projects with it since you are so creative! So far I've only done relatively simple things with mine. Hope you don't get too much snow. We even had flurries here this morning! Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about people who have been married that long! Warms my heart :) Sure they will love receiving it - such a fun, bright card. Well done with the Cameo too :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a Lovely card for you Mom and Dad in laws... I just love hearing that they have saved all your cards... It warms your heart to hear that I bet!
ReplyDeleteYou and your Cameo are match made in heaven, how creative you are. Let me ask were you get your Craft papaer for your cards?
What a darling card! I love the scalloped envelope and matching card.
ReplyDeleteMy son can write a little cursive, but it is not something they teach in school anymore. Heck, I don't even write in cursive. :)
This is so cute! What a great image to use for a anniversary card. Love the unique shape you gave to the card and the matching envelope.
ReplyDeleteOH..How cute! I love the unique shape of this, love the ribbon too.
ReplyDeleteWOW! The cut files for the Silhouette are really intricate and lovely. Really makes your card extra special Dawn. Happy Anniversary to your in-laws. I watched that tute for the photos from SCS. It works pretty good, but you still have to play with it a bit and sometimes I just do it the old way cause it looks better. LOL Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is just beautiful! I love the way you created the card and the matching envelope is gorgeous! I have no doubt that ANYONE who gets a card from you will never throw them away! They are all treasures! Tell your in-laws Happy Anniversary! My folks were married 68 years before Mom passed & that is a beautiful thing these days.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome and intricately cut card! Love the uniqueness of the shape! I really need to get my Cameo going again...I had some frustrating cuts and haven't touched it in months. :-(
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Dawn.
ReplyDeleteHugs Riet.xx
Love that pink ribbon! Such a sweet card.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely card, Dawn for an even lovelier couple...my folks celebrated 66 last Sept. They are what love is all about! You are doing so good with the Cameo...you will be pro in no time flat. I wouldn't give mine up for any amount of money...unless they come out with a new and improved one, of course...LOL
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Happy Anniversary to your in-laws - wonderful! My parents have been married for almost 64 years.
ReplyDeleteAw so cute Dawn! I know they loved this special card!
