Hope You Can Cling To

HOPE YOU CAN CLING TO
More than a quarter of a million of the most talented paper artists in the world call Splitcoaststampers home,
and we are ready to help use those talents for a great cause.  Today it is my turn to host the Hope You Can Cling To challenge.  I created this sketch to spark your creativity:

Most of us have been touched, directly or
indirectly, by breast cancer, and all of us know the power of stamps, ink and paper when used to encourage.
Let’s make October a month to remember and give patients at the MD Anderson Cancer Center some hopethey can cling to! Check out all the requirements HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Christy Croll.  I contacted her in September asking if she would help me out and create an image and she came back with so much more.. The image and paper I used today came from herstore Tiddly Inks. You can see this image and paper here:  DARE TO BE AWARE.  Not only does she have amazing talent she has a huge heart too.. Thanks Christy.  This meant so much to me.
The ribbon I used is from my sweet friend Nikki..
The button is from the etsy store Tessa Ann.

My mom started the very first hospice over 20 years ago in our county.  She cared for so many that really needed not only the medical support but the emotional support too.  Through her, I learned the effect cancer has on so many families.. Wish she could see this card today.. How happy she would be.

I am so proud to be a part of this huge card drive.  Won't you come join in and make a difference.

Santa, I Believe

Santa Close up

Welcome to Flourishes Friday Focus.  Today Stacy is our hostess and she is focusing on windows.. Create a card with a window.  She has some great info for you over on the Flourishes Blog Newsletter.  I chose the set Santa, I Believe.  This set has one of the most realistic Santa's. When I thought of a window I thought of Santa peeking in to see if you are being good..

Santa I Believe
I used lots of new Flourishes goodies here.  The paper is from Memory Box Tinsel.  It is their Christmas line.  I thought this was perfect for my Santa card.  I used my Spellbinders Label 15 to create my window.  The pretty glittery sparkly May Arts Metallic ribbon is available here at Flourishes.  I chose the Copics Fuchsia set and also the Flesh Tones Set for my coloring.  I finished off his eyes with the Sky Copics Collection set.  The embellishments at the top are the new Cranberry Nail Heads we have at Flourishes.  What a great way to embellish a card.

It's also Rubber Stamp Chat Virtual Convention time! Flourishes has one of the "booths" and you are invited! Flourishes is offering 10% off everything in the store. All you need to do is use the special code CHATITUP at the time of checkout in the coupon code box. The sale will run through Monday, November 1st. Did you check out Flourishes sale page. Select Spellbinders and ribbon is still on sale so take an additional 10% off with your CHATITUP code! Happy Stamping & Shopping!

Free Rides

Witch up close_edited-1

I am winding down with my challenges over at Mo's Digital Pencil's Challenge Blog.  I hope you have time to join me this week.  As the leaves start to turn and the weather has a cool chill (unless you live in North Carolina where it is 86 degrees) your mind turns to the change of seasons. My challenge this week is to pick a season and create a  card or project.
witches hat
I am not all that fond of witches but this one from Mo's store is too cute to spook. She is called Halloween Witch and is available HERE.. The sign is from the Bethy's Wagon Kit and it is available HERE.

I colored her using the copic colors C1,C3,C5, C7.  Lots of blending and adding the colors. The pumpkin is colored with the YR copic colors.  I decided to create a hat for her to sit on.. Just crumpled some designer paper and added some beaded wire spiders.. Want to see a fantastic tutorial for these spiders check it out HERE

The ribbon is from CardBlanc over at her Etsy Store.. Check out all her great stuff HERE. I love her ribbon and all the other things she carries..

Snow Friends

Sassy Cheryl's HYCCT

I wanted to play in a few Splitcoaststamper's challenges today. It is fun to create just for fun sometimes.. I have so many big projects coming up that my brain needed a break.

I used gingham and plaid for the Clean and Simple challenge.. I used a layout out for
the Featured Stamper challenge which just happens to be my sweet friend and
former dt sister Lynette.. and then I also wanted to play in the Hope You Can Cling to Challenge which was to use buttons.

This sweet image is from Sassy Cheryl's.. I LOVE all of her snowmen. This one is called Cardinal and Snowman. The snowflake is a RAK from my friend Holly Young. She crocheted this one.   I colored my image with copics.

Hope you are having a great start to your week.. Hugs.

Christmas Classics

Welcome to the final day of peeks from  Flourishes.. This set is called Christmas Classics. The images all are so beautiful.. The possibilities are endless..
Classic Christmas One

I wanted to use this stocking template I saw over on Splitcoaststampers for a gift card holder.  I stamped stockings and colored with the Copic Collections Evergreen, Fuchsia, and Flesh Tones.  The paper is the New Basic Grey Jovial.

I also created an ornament for my stepmom for Christmas.  We share the love of birds..
Christmas Classic 2

Christmas Classic 3

I purchased the ceramic ornament and box from Hobby Lobby.. I stamped with Stazon on the ornament.. I CAREFULLY colored with my copics and added stickles.   I then stamped again on the Kraft box.. Colored with copics and added stickles.. Sponged a little white craft ink around the edges for some softness.  I added the checked ribbon to my ornament..

Flourishes New Release Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Flourishes Sneak Peeks..  We are honored today to be sharing some
creations with the Spellbinders Team.  This new Flourishes set is called A Gift For You.
I created a group of tags and a box with a card as a gift for my friend.
First I stamped all my tags out on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored
with the Copic Collections sets Evergreen and Fuchsia.

tags

Then I used Val Stangles' tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers for the
tag box..It is a fantastic tutorial.  I used the Labels 14, Labels 16
and the Beaded Circle Dies all available at Flourishes.  The stamp
set coordinates so nicely with this set and I love the sentiments. I used
the Scor Tape that Flourishes now sells.  It is one of the best adhesives you will find for projects like this.

I wanted to create a card to go along with my tags since it is a gift.
I used the Poinsettia and Boxwood stamp set and the sentiment is from the Gifts For You.
This paper is the new Basic Grey Jovial. I stamped the image using
The tiles are the new Mosaic Tile Stickers that Flourishes has
added to the store.  The store is also now carrying  Peppermint Baker's Twine..I used it
on my package to add the tag to it. It would be perfect for all your tags.

This set was designed not only to coordinate with some of Flourishes best-selling Christmas stamp sets but with more than a handful of Spellbinders Template Dies! A Gift For You - drawn by the ever-so-talented Marcella Hawley - offers 8 different tag styles and 8 different mini sentiments to fit inside! To make sure your tags come out with a regal style and design, this set coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 14, Labels 15, Labels 16, as well as some of the new circular and square shaped designs like Lacey, Eyelet and Beaded Circles and Lacey or Eyelet Squares! The customizable options are endless.  Would you like to win this set? Sweet Treats1

It is hard to believe that another month has passed and we are on to the next new release at Flourishes already.  I made two cards for today's peek.

The above card uses the soon to be released set Sweets of the Season.  I used the new Spellbinder's die Beaded Circles. The paper is the Basic Grey Basic Kraft...  This ribbon
May Arts Iridescent ribbon is so pretty. I used the Copics Collections Flesh Tones for my coloring of the gingerbread.
Sweet Treats Santa

For my second card I used one of the sentiments in this new  set.  I had created one of these cards last year and wanted to recreate it with all my new Spellbinder dies.
I used the new Spellbinder's Dies:  Labels 17 (his hat),
the smaller Beaded Circle Die for his mustache, mouth and eyebrows,
smallest circle die for his eyes and eye lids. Then I used the newest
Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant set for his beard.
I used Flourishes May Arts Iridescent ribbon and the Basic Grey Jovial paper. I used the
Inkssentials White Ink Pen for the highlight on his eyes.

Sweet Treats Santa2
I used the gingerbread stamps from this set to go along with my gingerbread cookies my son and I made for Santa..:)

It's that time of the month again when we have a Pre Release Challenge over
at Flourishes.  This week's challenge is to create a card based on this
amazing sketch that Julie created..
ApplesFINALI
I had this card partially completed and really wanted to use it this week.. I added my oval
to the bottom of this easel card instead of my main layer like Julie has in her sketch.
This is the Apple Of My Eye set that Flourishes released in September. I also chose to put my apples in the basket from the Easter Basket set.. I used
this beautiful Maya Roads ribbon from Flourishes store. I colored the image with the
following Copics Collections Green Grass and Fuchsia sets also available at Flourishes.

The bling is the new Mosaic
Crystal Tiles that Flourishes has in many colors.
Sketch2

Flourishes has many of the new Spellbinders in the store and I chose the new Labels 14.

So get creating and join us.. Use the above sketch and show us what you came up with on the Flourishes Blog.. If you upload to Splitcoaststampers please use the keywords FLCOCT10.

Splitcoaststampers is proud to partner with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer.

Whether your stamps cling to acrylic, wood, or to your hard drive, they hold the power to convey hope and lift the spirits of anyone who sees what you create with them. That is the inspiration for our “Hope You Can Cling To” stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We are kicking this campaign off on World Cardmaking Day - a day of celebration of the power of a handmade card. We encourage papercrafters across the globe to put their talents to work creating beautiful handmade cards to send to patients and their families at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and, in the process, turn our gallery pink!

World Card Making Day

Breast Cancer

It's World Cardmaking Day today and Flourishes is helping Splitcoaststampers celebrate
with a fun challenge.  I used Flourishe's Fight Like A Girl set to create a tag
for my card. I cut the tag out with the new Spellbinder's Beaded Circles. I added some Basic Grey rhinestones from Flourishes embellishment section.

On this World Cardmaking Day, We're joining Splitcoaststampers by giving folks 'Hope they can Cling to!' That is the inspiration for SCS's “Hope You Can Cling To” stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All this month, SCS is partnering with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. The campaign kicks off TODAY! You can read up on the card drive HERE. To honor this heartfelt drive, Flourishes decided to offer up one heck of a challenge!

Here's the Challenge: Since women come in all shapes and sizes -- let's honor that! There are tall and skinny, round and shapely, even a little boxy. So, let's ditch the A-2 sized cards (4-1/4" by 5-1/2")and get creative. Anything goes! If you do that AND use ribbon, you'll get two entries! If you use a non-standard shape card, use ribbon and use the color pink, you'll have three chances to win! Let's see what you can create! When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword: FLLCWCMD10. You have until October 31st to enter and will have a shot at winning a goody bag which includes our Fight Like a Girl set supporting breast cancer survivors!

Also Flourishes is hosting a World Card Making Day Sale – everything is 10% off. Just use the keyword WCMD10 in the coupon code box at checkout!

This pattern is from the Cutting Cafe.. It comes with all you see here. Even an envelope template for the card.

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

This week over at Flourishes we are focusing on Christmas.. Use one Christmas set in two
different ways.. I saw this amazing quilt that was the trigger for creativity over
at Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger  this last week. Not Your Square Granny Square was my starting point for this card.  This is my first time playing in this challenge.
I chose the colors from the quilt and chair.. I went with a shabby, dirty, distressed look to keep with the quilted look. I also added stitching for a sewing look.. This card uses Flourishes All That Glitters set. The sentiment is from the set Christmas Music.
This fabulous paper is Jovial from Basic Grey.  I used the layout that Roxie has over at
Splitcoaststampers for the 300th sketch challenge.

 Christmas10-1
Here is my second card for this challenge. I used the same All That Glitters stamp set from Flourishes but this time I kept it clean.. Just sponged and used white and black as my card colors. I wanted it to look like looking out your window on a winter day. I used Flourishes
Classic White Cardstock.  I also chose the black braided trim that is available in the store.  The sentiment is from Christmas Wreath.
Want to play along.. take a Flourishes Christmas set.. Created 2 cards with the same set. Then
upload to SCS with the keywords FLLCNOEL6 for a chance to win a free set...AND

In honor of World Cardmaking Day, which is October 2nd, starting Friday and continuing on through Saturday everything in the Flourishes store will be 10% off!! Just use the promo code WCMD10 to take 10% off anything and everything in the store! Copy the code in the coupon code box at the time of check out, hit the "apply" button and this will give you a discount off your total bill!  Happy Shopping!
