Distressed Patriotic

Sassy Cheryl's Distressed

This week over at Sassy Cheryl's our challenge was to distress.  I love
this patriotic image.  It is called I Pledge Allegiance.  It is available
over at Sassy Cheryl's HERE

It is with much sadness that this will be my last card with Sassy
Cheryl's DT.. I am simplifying my life a bit.  My FIL is fighting
his battle with cancer and we will be heading home more often
to spend time with him.. This has been an amazing team and I
really appreciate Cheryl and all of her encouragement and love.
It most definitely will not be my last SC card.. Family time will
be special but I will miss this weekly stamping.

I am also adding this to the Digital Tuesday challenge...Scrap It.
I used all the scraps from my card to make the stars and the swirls.

Hop on over to the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge blog and create
a card with distressing.

In addition to our random drawing for a gift certificate, we're doing
something special. The Sassy Girls will be picking their top three
favorites from this week's entries. The three winners will get a special
blinkie to post on their blogs.

Birthday Blessings

Hope your Birthday gently breezes into your life all the choicest of things

and all that your heart holds dear

I wanted to create this card for the "Queen of The Day" over
at Splitcoaststampers.. Pat Smethers was chosen this week.
I had the privilege and honor of meeting Pat last Christmas.

This image is a Sassy Cheryl's Image and available HERE.  She
is called the Birthday Gifter.

I just love her.  I am sending this to my stepmom along with the
gift I made her below.  The border is a RAK from my friend
Kris and the ribbon is a RAK from my friend Nikki..

Sassy Cheryl's Sue

This is my "try something new" for the month of March.
My friend Michelle and her mom are always making the
most beautiful quilts..  I tried my hand at quilting.. Don't
look to close... These are my quilted pot holders.  I made
them for my step mom for her birthday.  I included 2
recipes and a chicken can cooker.  LOL  (it's a Southern
creation).
Sues_edited-1

She is such a great step mom.. it is tough to come in and be a mom to 8
kids..:)  She has been a blessing in my life.

Wish You Were Here

I have been back home with a sick family member this week..
It seems like when you are faced with life's situations you start to
reflect on simplifying.  I love this set from Flourishes.  The ocean
gives me so much peace.  This week we had an "anything goes"
theme.

I pray to be like the ocean, with soft currents, maybe waves
at times. More and more, I want the consistency rather than
the highs and the lows.    Drew Barrymore

Flourishes At The Beach

This set is called Beach Life and is available over at Flourishes.
I stamped and sponged the scene.  My sponging isn't the best as
I used my MIL's kitchen sponges with my ink.  I forgot my daubers.
She was pretty impressed.   I wanted it to look like a post card.
This week we didn't have a theme but just had fun...

Check out what the rest of the team did:

Cindy Lawrence
Julie Koerber
Laura Fredrickson
Leslie Miller
Stacy Morgan
Danielle Kennedy

I also made this for the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge #31
Clean and Simple was their challenge for this week.
Ceal picked this scripture:

Psalm 51:7-10 "Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash
me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness,
let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and
renew a steadfast spirit within me."

find their links  HERE on the Flourishes blog. Pay them a visit,
pick a designer, and choose one of their cards to CASE. Please make
sure to provide a link both to your card and the creation that inspired
you! If you upload to SCS, use the keyword FLLCCEL3 and don't forget
to link your creation on this post to be in the running for a Flourishes

FlourishesDay3

I chose Silke to case..HERE is her card. I love her style.  Although
this looks nothing like her original card I cased the layout.  This is the
soon to be released set Friendly Reminds.. I used this awesome
Gingham Checked Ribbon that Flourishes carries.

I was inspired by the beautiful warm weather and the frenzy of birds we
have here.  I grabbed some twigs and tied them with this String Burlap
also from Flourishes.

Flourishes Celebration Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Grand Opening Celebration for Flourishes!
We're celebrating our new home on the web! Today, for the Timeless
Tuesday challenge, the Friends of Flourishes are challenging you all
to get in the spirit and create a card full of celebration.

I chose the new celebration set called: LET THEM EAT CAKE
It is available over a the Flourishes Store.  I stamped the frosting in
chalk ink and the cupcake with Palette ink and colored with the Sweet
Pea Copics Collection available at Flourishes.  I love this pack and use it
often..
FlourishesDay2both

My cupcake is created with pleated dp for the cupcake tin and I sliced
two styrofoam balls in half.  Stuck my little note in between and added
my sentiment and circle to the top.. I used some scalloped edge ribbon
from the Flourishes store. I attached with pretty pink sewing pins so that
the recipient could reuse the ribbon.

Simply create and link up over at the Flourishes Blog:  FLOURISHES day 2
and you'll be in the running for a goody bag from Flourishes! If you
upload to Splitcoast, please use the keyword FLLCCEL2 and since
this is also a Timeless Tuesday challenge as well, be sure to also
add on the keyword FTTC57 to be in the running for the weekly
drawing for $10 off in the Flourishes store. That's right – one challenge
with two chances to win! You have until Monday, March 15th
at 6 PM EST to link up your cards.
