Welcome to Flourishes first-ever Birthday Blog Hop Celebration.   

Jan Marie, the owner of Flourishes is turning another year older 

and we thought we'd celebrate!  Not just with a party and blog hop, 

but a special stamp set in honor of her day!  Let Them Eat Cake 

was designed by artist Becky Fleck with a Marie Antoinette flair and, 

just in case you wondered, it's available now HERE in the Flourishes Store!

So, let's start our 'Hopping through the Decades' celebration!  

 We thought it would be fun to challenge

our Senior Design Team and Friends of Flourishes team 

to pick a decade and using our new Let Them Eat Cake set, 

be inspired in some way by that era!

Let's take a look at the 80's..  I had so much fun being inspired..
Apple computers, aqua net, feathered bangs, legwarmers, denim
jackets, The Smurfs, tupperware, neon colors, shoulder pads..
Remember all these???

I was reminded of the punk rocker phase with this picture.

I drew my inspiration from these
colors..










Now all you have to do is hop on through our celebration and  leave a
comment on all 14 of our designers' post this Thursday and Friday for a
chance to win this set. Once you left a comment on all 14, you just need
to leave a comment on the Flourishes Newsletter saying, "I hopped
through the decades with Jan Marie!"  We will then randomly draw 2
names on Saturday at 12 pm CST from all those who participated.
The winners will receive the Let them Eat Cake stamp set along with
some other goodies!

Mo's Digital Pencil Sketch Challenge

This is my last week as the challenge hostess over at Mo's Digital
Pencil Challenge Blog.. This week I am challenging you to create
a card with this sketch.

Don't you just love this Mo image.. I sure do. It is called You're Kinda Cute.
The little pincushion next to my card is one I have had for 20 years.. 
It is very special to me.  I bought it when my daughter was little.  
We used to sew together.

There She Goes

This is a card I created for last week's Trends over at There She Goes.. 

I used a tutorial that my sweet friend Marilynn had shared with me for 

quilling.. I love this TSG set..It is one of my favs.. TREEMENDOUS.. 

My DT  position will be ending this week...I really appreciate Jessica 

giving me this opportunity.

Here is another one I created for a challenge on SCS...

I will be away from my stamp room as we continue to finish all of our 

remodeling... I will have lots to share after this...  We finally now 

have heat..Yippee...

Sassy Cheryl's

I wanted to create a card for the Featured Stamper over on
Splitcoast this week.. I had this image all colored from a few 
weeks ago.. This week the FS is my sweet friend Judi.  She
lives not far from me and we are going to get together soon.
My stamp room is all torn up but luckily I was able to just pop
this image from Sassy Cheryl's onto a card and play along.

Whimsie Doodles Challenge National Friendship Week

This week Paula challenged us to create a card or project for National
Friendship week.. You can see the challenge over on the
Whimsie Doodles PCP CHALLENGE
I made this adorable little carrot box for my sister..
She is my best friend even if she is my sister.. :)  I chose the sentiment
from the new release available over at Whimsie Doodles.
This second project is for my niece.. I already sent them to her
as they would be a bit stale if I waited until Easter.. I used a
cookie stick and added the bunnies to it.. Then used the sentiment
also from the new release.. I put it in a pretzel bag I found at Michael's. 



Two really easy projects for Easter.. My stamp room is all torn up so I
will be back to regular stamping in a week.. Plus my family is here
visiting and "helping" with the construction.. Have a super weekend.

Flourish Strawberries SSHP19

I chose this beautiful Flourishes' Strawberry set to create my card for
the Saturday Spotlight challenge this week... I thought this was the perfect
set to use for distressing. I created it for a thank you card..I colored with
copics and prismas and then distressed the edges of each panel with lots
of inking.  I love this set..It is perfect for many different occasions. The
lace on this card is from my MIL...the border punch is an RAK from my
sweet friend Lisa...That girl spoils me.

Mo's Digital Pencil Blog Hop

I am away from my blog for the next two weeks.. This is an automatic

Mo's Digital Pencil Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge blog is to create
a clean and simple card.. That means just your image and you can add 
a ribbon as the only embellisment.. You may use ivory or white cardstock
and focus on your coloring... I chose Duck Day from Mo's store.. I colored
this image with Copics.. I am finally getting the hang of this.. :)

Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential...Around The House

For this week's challenge.....
The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to use a 

household item on your creation...but NOT a craft item! Use 

safety pins, dryer sheets, household cleaners, paper clips for

doing a technique or using as an embellishment.  I used an old

hair clip from my daughter's younger years and blended my 

grapes with Prisma Pencils and GOO GONE.. a household 

product..:)

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

This week's challenge at Mo's is a color challenge.  Use the colors pink
red and white.. Also must have a heart.. I chose this adorable new image
over at Mo's Digital Pencil Too.. This image is called Birthday Fairy Lee.  
This is my daughter's birthday card. 


I also created a little gift for my daughter that I wanted to share.. This
is a fabric cupcake (she is on a diet..) and a faux tea bag filled with
hearts.  I am sending this to her for her birthday..Here is the tutorial:

Here is a close up of the teabag.. I emptied out the tea and filled it with
punched out hearts.  Stapled it back up and added a chipboard heart to
the string.. Fun project.


There is so much going on at Mo's this next week.  The Dream Team and
the Challenge Team are looking for some Guest Designers.  Check out the
details over on the blogs.  Then next Tuesday February 16th we are having
a combined DT challenge blog hop.. Mo is celebrating her first six months

Sassy Cheryl's February Releases and DT CALL

I have been working on coloring these new release images from Sassy
Cheryl's..  This one is adorable.. I just love that sweet little mouse 
and the girls braids blowing in the wind..This reminds me so much of
my youngest daughter..  The name of this image is Teacher's Pet.

I am so ready for spring.  This has been such a long winter for all of us.  

This sweet rabbit was  fun to color. I think he is ready for spring too.

This butterfly punch is from my sweet friend Lisa... I have the best

friends.  Yesterday my in box, mailbox and email were all  FULL of 

birthday goodies and wishes..

I will be thanking everyone individually  but wanted to take a minute 

to tell you all that you mean so much to me. My world is better 

just by knowing all of those that visit my blog. 

Wood You Be Mine and Mo's Party

Each month I am challenging myself to try a different "craft" besides
cardmaking.. This month I chose crocheting.  I have had this idea in my
head from the very first time I saw Mo's Pinnochio image..  I found a
few tutorials out there for crocheting a heart and just went for it.
This one is hanging from his nose.. I love it when I can just stamp for
fun and I am having so much fun trying new things..This is for my 
hubby..I thought it was manly enough.

2 RAK's were used here.. The heart border punch was in a terrific
package that Lisa Lara sent to me.  The second is this awesome paper
that my sweet friend Nikki Tanner sent me for my birthday..

Mo has some fun stuff planned for her 6 month anniversary and for
1000 fans over on PCP.  So if you are not a member GO THERE NOW. 
MO's PCP GROUP.. she has a new FREEBIE... The Design teams will
