Where is Dawn????

Shall we compare our hearts to a garden -
with beautiful blooms, straggling weeds,
swooping birds and sunshine, rain -and most importantly, seeds.
~Grey Livingston

It has been crazy busy here at the Burnworth house.. I thought I
would show you a few pictures of what I have been doing.  My son
tried out for a team a month ago and much to his dismay they didn't
feel he was ready for this team so they bumped him down a level to
play with the younger kids.  He was so disheartened..... SO what have
I been doing. I have been out practicing
with him each and every day.  I am happy
to report that last Saturday he hit a grand
slam home run..   This mom's heart now
feels a little better too.

I have also been working in my garden.  This is the first time I have planted a garden in 25 years.
It feels so good to get my hands dirty.. I am happy to say it is actually growing..

I will be back with a card soon. I also have a tutorial over at Flourishes this Friday so be sure to
check it out..

  3. You are a good mom, Dawn :D Way to get your little guy out practicing and showing them he can play. His honed skill should give him a great season (lots of home runs :D)and the confidence he needs for next year's try outs. Way to go on a garden too :D It's a wonderful feeling when you see it grow and blossom!

  4. As the weather turns, it seems that baseball, gardening, mowing, bike riding, etc. take our card making time away.
Your son is a cutie and congrats to him for the grand slam!

  11. Hi Dawn, thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog.

I've noticed that since the weather has warmed up, everyone has been blogging less. I'm sure we'll all be back at our computers on those hot and humid days when no one wants to be outside.

I think its amazing that your helping your son with his sport. What a great mom you are. How awesome that he hit a grand slam too!

  14. Yeah!! I'm applauding C. for his home run! I love your garden. I have the same problem as Chris and Grace. I have just too many pet deer. The other night I had 9 of them sleeping in my back yard. The only way that I'm going to be able to garden is to put it in a wagon that I can pull into my garage at night! :) I ditto the other commentors. You are a great mom.

  16. What a cutie! He will do well on his team whichever he is on. Your garden is pretty, too. Though I'm not a gardener, I love the smell of dirt...especially baseball field dirt! There's nothing like it. Okay, I'm weird. Thanks for sharing your family and home life. Now, to just be able to make such beautiful projects as you do!!
