Where is Dawn????

Shall we compare our hearts to a garden -
with beautiful blooms, straggling weeds,
swooping birds and sunshine, rain -and most importantly, seeds.
~Grey Livingston

It has been crazy busy here at the Burnworth house.. I thought I
would show you a few pictures of what I have been doing.  My son
tried out for a team a month ago and much to his dismay they didn't
feel he was ready for this team so they bumped him down a level to
play with the younger kids.  He was so disheartened..... SO what have
I been doing. I have been out practicing
with him each and every day.  I am happy
to report that last Saturday he hit a grand
slam home run..   This mom's heart now
feels a little better too.

I have also been working in my garden.  This is the first time I have planted a garden in 25 years.
It feels so good to get my hands dirty.. I am happy to say it is actually growing..

I will be back with a card soon. I also have a tutorial over at Flourishes this Friday so be sure to
check it out..

  1. Oh, Dawn, how wonderful for your son! I know you're excited by his triumph, and yay for him! I loved seeing the pics, Dawn ;D

  2. Oh Dawn what a sweet photo of your son!! How awesome that he hit a homerun and that you would work with him. I love gardening flowers but fight the deer constantly! TFS the photos!

  3. You are a good mom, Dawn :D Way to get your little guy out practicing and showing them he can play. His honed skill should give him a great season (lots of home runs :D)and the confidence he needs for next year's try outs. Way to go on a garden too :D It's a wonderful feeling when you see it grow and blossom!

  4. As the weather turns, it seems that baseball, gardening, mowing, bike riding, etc. take our card making time away.
Your son is a cutie and congrats to him for the grand slam!

  5. And a home run for Dawn...hooray!! I admire your priorities and seriously, the time you are spending with your son can never be are doing the best thing now! Congratulations to him on his home run too...and such a good lucking young man too!
Your flowers and plants look great, I am not that brave yet!
Dawn, so happy to find out where you've been...and will look for ya soon!

  6. aww...... these photo's are so SPRING! are a very caring MOM and how exciting to see your garden grow!

  7. I'm so happy to hear that your son is learning how to lift that weight off of his heart. If they only knew how much their mom's heart feels for them as well:)

  8. Dawn it's so great to hear that you are gardening again!! This is a wonderful pic of your son too!! It's always a pleasure visiting you!
    Jodi =)

  9. Congrats on your son's grand slam - how awesome! A real confidence booster, for sure! Enjoy your garden.

  10. What a sweet photo of your son. What a good mom you are to help him practice. :)

  11. Hi Dawn, thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog.

I've noticed that since the weather has warmed up, everyone has been blogging less. I'm sure we'll all be back at our computers on those hot and humid days when no one wants to be outside.

I think its amazing that your helping your son with his sport. What a great mom you are. How awesome that he hit a grand slam too!

  12. Hi Dawn.
oh you bhave change your blog layout :) Nice
    Great foto's
I do love to work in my garden too, but the last year i did't did much, soms my mojo go away :)
I will be waiting for your cards.
They are so inspiration to me.

  13. What great pics Dawn! Your son will turn out to be the best one on the team next year!!! He's lucky to have such a helpful Mom! Love the garden pics too! I fight the deer all the time! They are hungry little critters up here!!! Enjoy your weekend with the girls!

  14. Yeah!! I'm applauding C. for his home run! I love your garden. I have the same problem as Chris and Grace. I have just too many pet deer. The other night I had 9 of them sleeping in my back yard. The only way that I'm going to be able to garden is to put it in a wagon that I can pull into my garage at night! :) I ditto the other commentors. You are a great mom.

  15. Practice is the key for anything I am glad he had got the benefit of some with his mum/mom

    Love Dawn xx

  16. What a cutie! He will do well on his team whichever he is on. Your garden is pretty, too. Though I'm not a gardener, I love the smell of dirt...especially baseball field dirt! There's nothing like it. Okay, I'm weird. Thanks for sharing your family and home life. Now, to just be able to make such beautiful projects as you do!!

  17. Way to go Mom!!! WOW ... grand slam ... that's awesome! You are a lady of many talents!

Thank you so much for sharing your comments with me. I really appreciate it.. Have a great stamping day..
