I'm Back Blog Candy

Fall

It's been a long time friends.  I find it hard to believe that I have not touched a stamp in 4 months.  This is my first card and I am still finding it hard to recapture my mojo.  This card is cased from a card I created a few years ago.  The image is from Squigglefly.  It is a digital stamped image by Marla Shega and one of my favorites.  It is called Scarecrow On His Wagon

I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful stamping friends.  In the last few weeks I have had 5 different emails from stampers encouraging me to come back.  THANK YOU for that push.  I just have not had any desire to stamp.  It used to be such a huge part of my daily life.

Where have I been you ask....

Home 2012 022

I spent some time this summer with my dad.  He is gathering in years and is having some health issues so the time we had together was precious. It is so hard to be away.  This is his 50th year of farming and he is still going strong.  The combine rolls no matter how old he gets.   His glass is always half full and he is so thankful for a prosperous life.

It's official I am a baseball mom.  This ever growing little man brings me much joy and laughter in my life.  He grounds me each and every day.  You can find me on weekends with a bleacher behind and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Mountains 2012 007

This little one has also entered my heart.  I spent a girls weekend in the beautiful mountains with my daughter and this sweet creature.  I miss all my daughters.  The little one is my niece who leaves me the sweetest messages on my answering machine making me miss her more each day.

  1. Yay! I'm so happy to see you back, Dawn! I've missed your wonderful creations and I've missed hearing what's going on in your life! I look forward to seeing your new projects and I know they will be even more gorgeous than ever since you took some time to spend with your family and get refreshed! One of my many blessings is that my Mom may be able to go home from the nursing home this week. That truly will be a blessing and prayers answered. Hugs to you, dear friend! Welcome back!

  4. Welcome back! I have missed your beautiful coloring, and I see you haven't lost your touch! What a gorgeous fall card! I also haven't stamped in an incredibly long time, but only because I am blessed with a cute, healthy and rambunctious 18 month old daughter and am newly pregnant with our second child. Life is good!

  6. Yeah, a Dawn card :) Just LOVE the maple leaves along the bottom (of course I have more than a slight addiction to maple leaves LOL).

So glad you been able to spend time with those you love so dearly. Fifty years of farming is an amazing milestone!! Wow!! Hope all goes well with our dad's health - will say a prayer for him. I mirror your time at the ball field
on the soccer pitch :) Downside is we play through the winter so lots of wet, cold times on the side lines coming up :( Was joking with a mom who told me she was about ready to buy a heated bikers outfit she saw - just plug it in, let it warm up and then you are good to go LOL!

Big ((hug)) to you and welcome back to blog land :)

  16. Welcome back Dawn!!! I know you have had lots of changes this summer... and all for the good! Sometimes it's good to step back and get all our priorities figured out and realign our lives! I applaud you for doing what you needed to do to feel better and I hope you can just enjoy stamping for the fun thing it can be, and not feel like it's overtaking your life!!! I have checked in several times to see if you were back.... and I'm so glad to see your awesome fall creation! I love this stamp and your gorgeous coloring!!!

Can't wait to get together. Since our last email I have been to a Dr. 3x a week, and then this vacation so my time has been so limited. I too am trying to get a few things (pain levels) under control so am praying the things I'm trying now will help!

So much catching up to do when we can! I've missed you!!!
    hugs,

  17. Dawn, you have made my whole week! I have checked daily to see if you were back yet & have wrestled so many times with whether or not to email you but always decided against it. I knew you needed some time off & didn't want to intrude. I know your summer was well spent & was something you really needed. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with all those you love. Family should always come first. But I am so glad to see your beautiful cards again. This one is no exception. (Your beautiful framed card is still hanging above my desk as an inspiration) I am DELIGHTED to have you back!

What a wonderful start to my day when I opened my email and saw that Dawn (My Stamping Thyme) was back. I am not writing this for the gift certificate......I'm writing just to say how much I have missed your beautiful card creations. You are such an inspiration to me and I appreciate that so much. I, too have taken some time off as we recently moved and it has taken time to set up our new home and completely redo a room for my card studio. It's been a year since I made a card but each and every day I feel that I still have the passion to continue this hobby that I love even though other things get in the way. I have seen where some of the best card makers have burned out and lost their creativity from being on design teams and that breaks my heart. In my eyes, you never lost your creativity. So glad you were smart and took some time out for yourself. Your photos display a wonderful family (and adorable dog too) and it was so nice of you to share those with us. Your fall card is just beautiful and I have to say again, I am so glad that you are back!!!!l

  36. Welcome back Dawn!
I saw another card of yours over at TSG and I got all excited that you were back. I do know how you feel,I have not really wanted to make a card in a long time. I know I have to make one once a week for my DT. It has been so crazy busy around here I am just not into making cards like I use to be, hopefully it will return.
So on to your question... I am blessed that because I am so busy with my Children and there activities and get to spend this precious time with them because it goes by so quickly!
    Happy to see you back.
    Hugs, Heide

  37. I have missed your talents these many months. I kept checking back to see if you were doing anything and low and behold then morning, there you are! I am blessed in so many ways but I guess I'm mostly happy to be a retired lady with time to do the things I love most. Gardening and crafting. I am also blessed daily by my grandson. He is becoming a wonderful young man right before my eyes!
