Stepping Back

There comes a time in life when you realize that things need to change.  For me that time is now.  I  have sadly decided to step down from all my design teams for the summer.  I promise I will be back to stamping in the fall.  Right now I need to regroup and re-energize my creative soul.  I will so miss the girls at Flourishes and all my other design teams.   As I typed up this post tonight I was reminded of a piece I had read from www.bravegirls.com a little while back..

Dear Seeking Girl,

Our souls always knows when it's time to move on. We fight those feelings, we resist them...we try to stuff them down or shoo them away....but our souls are persistent and keep sending messages....in fact, messages usually start coming from every direction when it is time.

It is hard to move on. It is hard to embrace the changes that moving on brings. It is hard to navigate away from what is comfortable and what we know....even when we know we've outgrown it or that it is destructive to us in many ways. Many times, we stay in places where we know we don't belong simply because it is what we know...and we are too afraid of moving on and into what we don't know.

Listen to those gentle and not-so-gentle pushes that your soul is trying to communicate. Moving on is important....if we don't move forward, we stay stuck. It's like a stream...or a river...when it stops moving, it gets mucky and contaminated........we need to constantly be finding our flow...we need to be growing and learning and moving.

Move on, sweet friend, if that is what your soul is urging you to do....and keep moving and moving and moving......
Keep moving forward.

You can do this.

This really spoke to me when I read it.  I promise that I will back to creating soon.  Right now I just need to regroup.  Thanks so much for all those who have visited me here.

I would also like to thank Flourishes (Jan Marie, Julie and the team) for 2 amazing years of designing along with them.  They are a class act and I will miss the all so much.  One of the best stamp companies around.   I am excited to see some new faces that I know will do a fantastic job.
See you in a few months if not before.

  4. What a fabulous passage - worth keeping on file as the words are so true! Good for you for knowing what needs to be done and being obedient to that call of your heart, regardless of how hard the decision has been. Enjoy your time off to the fullest, drink deep of what your soul needs at this time so you can reach new depths and new heights. Let me know if there is anything I can pray for - huge cyber hug for you!!

  11. Dawn, I am going to miss your lovely personality and creative cards on Flourishes blog hops! Your cards inspired me so much so, that I would learn the TT challenge and refuse to see yours and the rest of the DT's just so I wouldn't "copy" your ideas :) I know you will recharge your creative ideas and I hope you will join Flourishes again, in the future, because you are already sorely missed!! :)

  13. The best of luck, Dawn; and hopefully, a fulfilling summer! Life needs attending to occasionally and some times, we have to let go and get back there, to find ourselves, to renew, to rejoice. May the tides move your way and bring rebirth and joy back to your life. Will look forward to seeing your beautiful creations again in the Fall. Until then, enjoy your summer!

  17. I am so glad I stopped by today Miss Dawn! Such a lovely and true passage, and we all need to be reminded of the need to listen to the voice of our souls! We all seem to get so caught up in our ever growing self imposed "to do list" that I think we forget what we truly need.. Big Hugs to you my friend, enjoy your time off, and I look forward to seeing your Lovely work again come Fall. 8-)

  21. Dawn,
You are someone I have come to love & admire. You were the very first person to befriend me when I started my blog & I will never forget that. I know you have a good reason to take some time off & I wish you a wonderful summer. You are right to listen to that voice that is urging you to regroup. Sometimes we all need to take a deep breath & trust we are where God wants us to be. I know we will talk again. Blessings!

  25. Dawn, I totally understand where you are coming from. Sometimes we just have to do this for ourselves. It keeps us from burning out altogether. Take the time you need and come back when you can. We will be waiting for you.

  26. Hi Dawn!
Ive been thinking of you lately, hope you're enjoying your time off "refueling". Its hard to keep scooping water from a bucket if you're not topping it up, theres only so much you can give. We all need to regroup and recharge from time to time. I'm feeling a little bit of what you're describing too. I think its called "burnout". lol So Ive cut back a fair bit and will do more of it soon so I can grab some snatches of my life back for summer.
Just wanted to let you know you're missed but not to feel bad cos we're patient people and will be here when you come back (provided we're not on hiatus at the time. lol)
Have an awesome summer! Spend lots of time with the family and do lots of new projects just for you. You'll be so full of creative juice when you return you'll leave us in the dust!
    Hugs,
    Dorcas

I have been MIA in blogland mostly......finally had a moment tonight and came to see what you have been up to......and read this.......I wish you a summer of delight ....with no demands....and new experiences.....and, selfishly, I look forward to your return to your artistic life when it is right for you.....you will be missed, but we all certainly understand a need to regroup and refresh

    Enjoy your time, my friend........

  29. Hi Dawn, after just returning from a Beth Moore conference this evening...I can say I am right there with you. Her emphasis was on finishing well, finishing what we start. There was so much more to it that I still need to sort through before writing about it, but for me, life is about priorities. Enjoy your summer and look forward to seeing you in the fall!!

  31. Hi Dawn!
Been thinking of you a lot and hoping you are enjoying your summer off... and many extra moments with those who mean the most to you! I hope you are refreshing, revitalizing, and finding new strength, direction and sense of God's leading! I applaud what you did... it did take courage and pain, I'm sure, but it was a healthy step! I hope you'll have a coffee moment sometime along the way. You have my number! :)
    hugs and prayers,
    Grace
