Venice 123 Create Kit

Flourishes is releasing a brand new 123 Create Kit today.  It is called Venice and it is BEAUTIFUL.  I chose a vintage style card for my peek at this kit.
The kit has so many rich papers and the embellishments are gorgeous.  I chose the Flourishes Butterflies and Blossoms  set for my creation today.
123CreateWM.

I have been so inspired by what Beate Johns has created in the past with her monochromatic tones.  I used Flourishes Copic Collections Creamy and Copper.
Then I highlighted with Warm Neutrals
The blues are from Flourishes Robin's Egg Copic Collection.
I used Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares cut with my Grand Calibur die cut machine. I stamped my image twice onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and then colored. I added dimension to the flowers and butterfly.

Here are the goodies you will receive in this kit:

Happy Anniversary

Wedding Bliss 1/

Next month my hubby and I have an anniversary coming up.  It has been 12 years of wedded bliss.   He would probably beg to differ.

It is Friday Free For All over at Flourishes and I chose this pretty set called Wedded Bliss from their newest release.  Don't forget that today is the last day to save on the

I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock with ink and embossed.  I stamped the corners with the pretty flourish stamp in this set and embossed those too.  I used my
Grand Calibur to cut out my Grand Labels One for my card base and layers. I used the Pixie Paper pack for my card too. Lastly I finished it off with some

Love makes it all grow...

It seems like it was just yesterday that my mom and I were planning our garden. I loved to plant it but weeding was a different story.  We would spend hours picking and canning all our veggies.  This past summer my daughter and I planned our garden and so the tradition continues.
This adorable image is Sprout from Mo's Digital Pencil.  This week's challenge over at Mo's is to create a card with distressing. I distressed each edge of my cardstock and then also used distress inks to sponge around each piece.

Sprout1.
I picked out some Scrabble tiles from an old game my kids used to have.  Many pieces were missing but luckily LOVE remained.  I used some beautiful vine ribbon from May Arts and created some rolled flowers with ribbon.  I designed my own paper with the word love on some Kraft and printed it out.

Thank You Teacher

DTGDgingham_edited-1.

As I sent my son off to school today for his end of year testing I started thinking about all you teachers out there.  Not just school teachers but Sunday School, Homeschooling Parents, and tutors.. What a blessing it is to have all these people that take the time to enrich our child's lives and brains..:)
This is a card I created last fall for the Dirty Dozen. The image is a Pure Innocence image from My Favorite Things.I colored her dress with copics and added the lines with a prisma pencil to give it some contrast. I drew the apple with markers and created a button with a button kit from the fabric store.

DD2 Aug.

Here is the second card I created for the Dirty Dozen.  I spray painted a piece of cardboard with chalk paint and then wrote out the numbers and letters with chalk.  I love this little guy.  My Favorite Things has this with a girl over in their Pure Innocence section.

Thanks to all who teach. It is a big job....

Country Charm

.

It is day 3 of Flourishes New Release.. This set is near and dear to my heart.  First off I am a country girl through and through which makes me love the name..Secondly,

Country LabelsBrown.

About a year ago I happened upon a blog that had a quote with each post. I just loved some of the different sayings this blogger had used.  So I decided to write down different little sayings that really meant something to me.. If you look at this set you will see some of those sayings.. They are ones that I have listed at the top of my blog under my header.  I love it because I can read them each time I visit.

Embrace your truth is my favorite.  Be true to who you are. Don't follow the crowd.  Listen to your heart and the rest will fall into place.  This set coordinates with the
Spellbinders Grommet Tags (S4-322). The Spellbinder's Team has joined us in a little blog hop. Be sure to follow along..

What A Catch

Watch A Catch Sneak

It's time for another new release teaser.. Today we are celebrating all the men in our lives with the new set called What A Catch.

What A Catch

I combined two of the stamps from this set.  The hat and bag are two different stamps.  I masked the bag to stamp the hat.  I stamped on watercolor paper and used reinkers to paint my image.  I used some old designer paper I have had in my stasth.  I added some Mosaic Tiles to the top for a bit of an embellishment.

This set will go live in the store at 9 a.m. CST today.  Then be sure to stop by the Flourishes blog at 12:00 p.m. CST today for an out of the box challenge that will have some lucky winner walking away with the entire new release.

WeddedBliss2.

The first set we are releasing is so beautiful. It is perfect for anniversaries, weddings, and engagements.  I chose the Save The Date sentiment and created a romantic card using the toasting silhouette couple.  I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and embossed to give it a rich look. I used my Grand Calibur to cut out my On The Vine Border. I used my Fluer De Lis Rectangle Spellbinder Dies for the matting of my image.  I then added some ribbon, a stick pin and some black rhinestones to finish it off.

Words To My Mother

It is time for Flourishes Release Week Challenge.  This month the challenge is "Words To Your Mother".  Create a card with a sentiment as your main element.  Make it something you would love to say to your mother in honor of Mother's Day. Then upload to to the Flourishes blog for a chance to win the entire new release.
PreRelease5-6.

This next week our family will be celebrating the graduation of my oldest daughter from the College of Business at University of IL. I am very proud out her and know that my mom is going to be "with" us in spirit that day.  If she were here she would say these very words to my daughter.  So on that special day in memory of my mom I will give this card to my daughter.  My mom was always such a big part of my life and helped me live my dreams.
Love you mom and miss you.

For this card I chose Flourishes sentiment set called Life Lines. The designer paper is from the Pixie Paper Pad.  I added some pearls and pink plaid ribbon to my card.

I used the Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle dies for my card base. I just folded my paper and placed my die above the fold on one end. I love the way this worked.  Then I added some pink leave cut with the On The Vine Border Grand Dies from Spellbinders. I cut everything out using my Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine.

BIG NEWS over at the Flourishes blog so be sure to check it out.. AND here is what the rest of the design team came up with for you:

Beary Messy

Beary Messy3.

Well here we are into May already. I can't believe how fast time goes by.. It is time for all the bears in the mountains to come out of their hibernation..:)  This one is from a set called  Beary Messy from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I went way out of my comfort zone on this.

Beary Messy2.

I wanted to try something different.  I colored my fur with lots of little line strokes with my copics.  Then I carefully colored and dotted around the image for a more dramatic effect.  The challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge BLog is to use a monochromatic theme.  I kept my colors mostly browns.  This took a really long time and I layered my colors many times.  I like the look of the purples and brown together.

BIG NEWS...We are looking for a new Guest Designer for next month... Create a card with a Mo image and follow the challenge them.  Then upload to the challenge blog with GD behind our name if you are interested in creating along with the team..

Poinsettia

Poinsettia and Boxwood 2.

The months in 2011 just seem to be flying by.  We just got back from visiting family in IL and IN.. It is a reminder of how time doesn't stand still.  People and places change and life goes on. We had a great visit and it is always hard to come back.
It is only 8 months until Christmas.  It felt like fall weather in IL.  It was so cold.  Stacy has another Noel challenge for us over on Splitcoaststampers.  This month the theme is to use ONLY poinsettias on your card.

Poinsettia and Boxwood.

I chose the Poinsettia and Boxwood set for my creation.  I stamped it on Flourishes Classic Cardstock twice and cut it out to layer.  I added some pearl embellishments.  This pretty ivory lace is from the Flourishes store. I love the width of this lace.  It is perfect for card making.  I stitched around the edges of my Basic Grey Jovial paper.  I colored my  flower with the Fuchsia Copics Collection.

A reminder about the changes to the challenge for the rest of the year. We want you to get ahead on your Christmas cards and have more time to enjoy the Christmas season without the glue dots in the hair, paper all over the living room and smudges of ink on your face come Christmas Day! So we will not draw one winner but 5 names to win in May. Each month we will have anywhere from 5-10 winners for a free Christmas stamp set for that month! For 5 lucky winners, May stamp set will be the Warm Winter Wishes.

Carnival Blog Hop Winner

No card today as I am busy working behind the scenes for this week.  I have a lot on my stamping table but nothing to share yet.. Just wanted to announce the winner for the Carnival Blog Hop.. Here is the comment and stamper that won on my blog:
