Happy Easter

Buttons and Bows2.

Sneaking in a challenge card here today.. My daughters, dad, sister and niece were all here for 2 weeks.. I am always sad to see them go..This image reminds me of the days when I would sew my girls matching gingham Easter dresses.. I loved those days.

It was so great to see my dad and spend some quality time together..
We miss our family back home.

This card was created for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  Pat challenged us  to pull out the buttons and bows.  I chose Mo's Easter Bunny.
.

Gloomy, cold day here in NC so my picture is not the best.. I hope you will come join in on the fun and create a card with Buttons and Bows.. Check out what the rest of the

Be Still and Know

LentenRoses3-25b.

I needed a sympathy card this week. I really dislike making a card like this but this Flourishes set called Lenten Rose is perfect.   Time is such a precious commodity that we take for granted.   It makes my time this week with
my college daughters even more precious. In a second your life can be changed.
I thought this sentiment would bring comfort.

LentenRoses3-25.

I watercolored my image with markers.  I stamped my image onto watercolor paper and then cut it out with my Grand Calibur using Spellbinder's Label Fourteen Die... I also used the Nested Lacey Pennant set to cut out the sentiment.  I used May Arts Silk White Ribbon.
Don't forget that today is the last day to get the New Release Bundle at  10% off..HERE.

Also don't forget about the Gambler's Sale..All sale items are now 45% OFF.

I also had several stampers ask how I store my Flourishes stamps.. Here are some pictures of the Clear Plastic Boxes Flourishes carries for stamp storage.. I use the small ones and can fit two stamp sets in the box...
Here is the case closed with a set in it..
Here it is open.. The second set can fit on the left hand side..

Birthday Pennants Blog Hop

.
Welcome to Day 3 of Flourishes New Release.
When Flourishes first laid eyes on two of the brand new die sets fresh off the production line at Spellbinders, we just knew that we needed a stamp set to coordinate with these funky and fresh dies! Are you ready to take a peek?

This fun set just screams celebration and offers 6 different pennants and flags all designed to coordinate perfectly with Spellbinders Nested Pennants (S5-028)&  Spellbinders Lacey Nested Pennants (S5-029). There are also 9 sentiments and 8 accents in the set that you can use to deck out your pennant shapes in fun and different ways!
Pennant Card

Want a little more to coordinate with your cards? How about our new Strips and Stripes background set? This set offers three strips to use together as one background or separate as three different strips that coordinate with our Birthday Pennants set! Since the set was just released last night, we can show you it in its entirety now!

I wanted to get the most out of my dies and stamps so I created this cake slice gift box
for my stepmom for her birthday.  The lid lifts up and you can add a little gift or gift card.  The top has 5 layers of Nested Lacey Pennant dies.  I used the Strips and Stripes set to stamp the sides of the slice.

I created the box to match my card. I used Scor Tape to assemble the box.  I used the Strips and Stripes on the sides of the box and stamped it on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I used some May Arts Ribbon Silk Ribbon and Black Gingham to make some rolled flowers. I also added the beautiful Rose Floret's collection available at Flourishes. I used the Nested Lacey Pennant Dies, the Nested Pennants and On The Vine Border dies.  I cut them all out using my Grand Calibur.

Flourishes Friday Focus with a Tutorial

It's time for another Release week challenge over at Flourishes.

TutFinish.

Die cut, punches edges or decorative borders, all are the rage in card making, so let's see how you can create a card that's a cut above the rest! To enter, simply use a die cut, decorative punch or border punch as a focal point on your card. Keyword: FLLCMAR11 - deadline is March 11th at 5 PM Eastern.

I have created a little tutorial for you today.
zfirst.

I wanted to do a short tutorial to show you how you can use your
First I took a 4.5 x 11 piece of cardstock and folded it in half. Place the top of the die just above the top of the fold. This will cut the card keeping it all in attached. Then I put it through my Spellbinders Grand Calliber to cut a piece that looked like this when opened.

zsecond.

Now you want to score one of the ovals in the middle and fold it towards the center of the card.  This will be your easel back.

z3.
Now you want to cut another Beaded Oval in your Grand Calibur.  Attach the bottom of your oval to the bottom of the folded oval.  This will be your card front.

z4.

Now it is time to add your image and your sentiment.  The sentiment is cut out using the Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennant die.  LOVE this die.

zpennant.

I then stamped out some violets and leaves.  I added these all to the bottom of my easel card with dimensions.  That way they catch your easel top.

ztop.

This lays flat to mail...

zclosed.

I watercolored the beautiful Flourishes Sweet Violets stamp for my easel card.
I used my Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities to cut out and add some Memorybox Minuet Designer paper for a bit of color.
To enter, simply use a die cut, decorative punch or border punch as a focal point on your card. Keyword: FLLCMAR11 - deadline is March 18th at 5 PM Eastern.
The Gambler's Sale is still going on..Everything on sale is now 35% off.
