Penelope's Wagon CD Calendar

Altered Penelopes Party Wagon

It is time for another challenge for Mo's Digital Pencil.  This week Paola challenged us
to alter something.. I had this idea in my head months ago and this gave me to push to
get it done.. I recycled an old CD case we had.  I used Penelope's Party Wagon  from
Mo's Digital Pencil Store.
I created my own template for the calendar part but Cat over on SCS has
that all done for you.. She now has 2011 templates available in all sizes..

side view Penelope

I added a pad of sticky notes to the back of the holder.  The crocheted flower
is from PixiePetal's Etsy shop.. She has some beautiful goodies and will be
giving some away next week for Mo's 1 year Blog Challenge Anniversary party.
We have been challenging you for one year already.. Where does time go...

I will be giving away some goodies so be sure to mark your CALENDAR..haha..

Adding this to the Creative Belli Challenge: Numbers (Calendar) something Old (CD case)

Scarecrow Wagon

The first time I saw this image I gasped.. It reminded me so much of back home
in IL.. The cool crisp fall days where pumpkins and scarecrows are in abundance.. I heard
there is a pumpkin shortage this year?????  Anway..

Colored and shaded with copics.  This new image is from Squigglefly and the
artist's name is Marla Shega. I dug out my leaf dies from last year.. Used my old
french script cb folder that has not seen the light of day for a year also.. Felt good
to use some old stuff.

Found just a few challenges to enter.. Some at the last minute..eeks..

It's a Flourishes Friday Focus.. Sorry my post is late. I scheduled it for 1 p.m. instead
of 1 a.m.  This week we call Friday Free for all.. We get to create whatever
we want.. I chose to show you some of my Dirty Dozen projects.. Of all the things
I created this tops my list as two of my favorites.  I used the Strawberry set
from Flourishes for both of these.

Strawberries2t

Then I created this little basket with some felt strawberries.. The strawberries are just a
half circle of felt sewn up and then I added french knots with embroidery floss all over them.  I used the Strawberry set again for the tag.

Now it's time to announce the winner of my blog candy.. That was so much fun seeing where everyone resides.. I loved it..
The winner is: Cammie...here is what she said

Cammie said...

Falling For You

Fall CatI

It's the first official day of fall.. Dear Mr. Weatherman could you please
send some rain.. It is so dry here. We have not had any rain for 6 weeks.  With
the cool fall days (haha it is 90 here today) I thought this sweet little
cat with his leaf would be perfect.. This is for Mothermark's Teapot
Tuesday challenge over on SCS.. I KNOW it's Wednesday but you know how that goes.
This is a new image over at Mo's called of all things Fall Kitten  :)

I colored him with Copics and then used some clear blending solution on a washcloth
and carefully placed it on his fur to give him some dimension and texture.

Off to have a pumpkin spice latte.. Yummo.

Don't forget you have 2 more days to sign up to win my BLOG CANDY..

Blog Candy and Caramel Apples

Apples

This past weekend my son and I made Caramel Apples.. We had gone to an Apple Festival
in the beautiful mountain town of Hendersonville North Carolina.  I loved it there.  We decided we would get some apples and make them into something yummy.  I found a recipe that was a little different..

Melt your bag of caramels first with 2 tablespoons of water on the stove.  Then dip your apples in the caramel.. Heat the caramel slowly as it burns easily.  Then take about 2 cups of pretzels that have been crushed and roll the apple around in them.. When this has cooled drizzle some milk chocolate on top.. (I used milk chocolate chips).  This is so yummy..

Carmel Apple
AND OF COURSE.. you need to decorate the stick and tag with the new Flourishes Apple of My Eye set.. It has a cute little caramel apple stamp.  I covered my stick with Basic Grey Origins Paper from Flourishes also.. The ribbon is the new Maya Roads ribbon..

I am sneaking this into the Shabby Tea Room's Challenge.. Inspired by Nature or Green

Don't forget I have blog candy.. HERE..

all use many of these tools in your own papercrafting.  I chose the set
Cherries and Peaches from Flourishes.  The paper is our new paper
called Fairy Flora.  The ribbon is some wonderful gingham ribbon from Maya Road.
I used the Flourishes Copic Collections.. to color my peaches.  The peaches are

I chose Daisy, Fuchia, Green Grass collections. I shaded with the

Lastly I wanted to use my ScorBuddy Mini.  I scored all the lines on my

Berry Beautiful

It's time for another challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Blog.
This week Paola is once again hosting the challenge.  She has challenged everyone
to use a fold on their card.  You are also to add a flower.. Oops forgot mine and
really didn't have room for it. There is a flower in the image.. Hope that counts
I used a fold I saw over on Splitcoaststampers several years ago.
HERE is the link if you would like the directions.  It is a bit tricky but I think
you can figure it out.
I chose Mo's sweet Strawberry Girl for my card.  I used my Flourishes Strawberry set
for the strawberries.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card... and the image itself

Here is a picture of the other side of the card. Great thing is that it only takes a half a sheet of 8.5 x 11 in cardstock and it mails flat.. I used my Scor-Pal to do all the scoring
and folding.

MY FRIEND HOLLY HAS A VIDEO TUTORIAL>..HERE
(wish I had seen it before I spent an hour trying to figure this out..)

Butterfly Bliss

Over on Splitcoaststampers I often cruise through the Need A Lift Thread each morning.  So many different requests.  I happened to see a name that I recognized as a stamper that leaves comments on my cards and was going through a difficult time.  I created this card for her because she loves butterflies and flowers.  Mothermark's teapot Tuesday group are  all sending cards to her this week.  Check out all the details HERE.  This background stamp is from Peddler's Pack and is one of my favorites.  I colored it with copics.
