Gorgeous Dawn! I have ALWAYS loved these calendars that you do. They are AMAZING! If I could only get my dad to make me one. :) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas? I have to say there are three. My three childrens' first Christmas. I must tell you my husband's worst Christmas was coming out of Midnight Mass and having our car stolen. It was a long time ago and now it's just a good laugh. Please don't be gone long.
ReplyDeleteDawn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect image for the calender. I was so excited to make my calender and have not had time to update, Nov is over and I have to start thinking about Dec and not sure what to put on it!
The calendar is wonderful! Dawn I hope 2011 finds you healthy, happy and ready to show us your stuff!! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Dawn, hope everything turns out ok.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite gift was a small pair of booties to my husband to let him know I was expevting our beautiful Mackenzie
Big HUGZ to you
Fleur xXx
Love your calendar - sweet image! My favorite gift was a Chatty Cathy doll back in the 1950's! Thanks so very much for a chance at this delightful holiday giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI love your calendar Dawn! Wonderfully coloured image! Please know I will be thinking of you.I look forward to seeing you post again. Take Care.
ReplyDeleteI have one of these holders and will be adding a calendar to it now. My favorite Christmas was during the early years of my marriage. I was an avid coupon/refunder and was wanting a typewriter to keep track of my submissions and such. We didn't have money in those days, so I didn't ask for it. I was totally surprised on that Christmas morning when I open my package and there was the typewriter. I didn't think he knew or could afford...but he figured out a way.
ReplyDeleteOh, Dawn, I am sooo sorry to hear that you are needed some recoop time. Please know that I will be praying for you, friend, and will miss your inspiring work until you come back :(
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift was a body pillow from my husband, because it was from our first Christmas as a married couple. We had just found out we were having a baby, and we barely had two pennies to rub together. Our tree was a small wooden tree that my mother had painted, and we were in our tiny 600 sq. ft. apartment. I loved that morning with him ;)
My favorite gift is from about 10 years ago, my hubby gave me a gold necklace with a heart that is inscribed with "I love you". :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn, I just came by to see if you had been here..I am praying for you all day today!! I hope you check back soon. Your calendar page is amazingly sweet, love that image!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the days will go quickly!
So my favorite gift was our daughter's first Christmas. She was so small and did not need much, so we bought her a cute little puppet that reminded me of the bunny in the book, The Velveteen Rabbit. And that was the year we adopted a foster family to buy toys and clothes for.
BIG hugs and prayers for you today, Dawn. May God keep you in his care!
Hi Dawn, I hope that you recuperate quickly. Be healthy!!
ReplyDeleteI love the wonderful calendar you made! So very sweet. I think that my favorite Christmas gift of all time came in 1998 when my daughter, our firstborn, was born a few days earlier than expected and arrived on Christmas Eve!!! The two of us spent Christmas in the hospital that year, but we had a wonderful celebration with our family when we were sent home on the 26th. It would be hard to "top" that wonderful Christmas gift!
Beautiful calendar page, Dawn - just stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteHow could I choose a favorite Christmas gift??? I would just like to say - my two grandchildren are the best gifts, and we'll have a third one any day now, so that will be third favorite gift!!!
Our design team is praying for you, Dawn! Rest and heal knowing that you are a precious child of God and friend to many!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute calendar page! Any time that my hubby or family gives me a gift that touches my heart with how thoughtful it is, (and therefore always brings tears of joy to my eyes) is my favorite gift. Like a precious poem about how much I mean to my children. Those are gifts to treasure!
Darling image as always. I always think of you when I have to do so me colouring :) Thanks for the chance to win some goodies too! One of my favorite Christmas gifts has to be my Cuttlebug :) I use it on just about every card and just love it. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful calendar and great prize. My favorite gift was a new outfit because my Mom knew I'd been asked out by somneone special after I had been sick for some time, and she took back a gift she'd purchased to get me a new outfit just for this date. Now, the date didn't turn into something all that special after all, but what my Mom did was special!
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn,I hope you are well and soon will be back with your amazing projects.
ReplyDeleteLove this calendar it's such a great idea for a gift.
For me all my gift which I get are special and I love them.
But one year I just got the most precious and simple card from my hubby, with such a touching text, that was for me the most special gift.
I wish you all the best and see you soon.
Renkata
Dawn this is a fabulous Santa, I just love him. :)
ReplyDeleteMy first brand new dress when I was 12 years old. Before that I only wore hand me downs.
What a beautiful calender :)..I hope that you are feeling better soon...My favorite gift of all time was last year when my 11 year old daughter secretly worked hours and hours on a scrapbook for me... Brought tear to my eyes it was just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun calendar page. I like how the calendar fits within the curve of the image.
ReplyDeleteOh Dawn, what a beautiful calendar and a great gift idea. Thank you for sharing. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I love your site and hope that someday you will be back to posting. But, I must say that those of you that are on design teams must get totally exhausted. I get exhausted just trying to keep up with all the posts. LOL. Now, it is your turn to sit back and read all the other blogs. You have contributed so much to this craft and we all appreciate it. Take care and God Bless You and heal you quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to tell what my favorite gift was....hmmmm...Oh, I received an Epson V 500 photo/negative scanner from my husband. He know how important it is for me to get all my genealogy in order and make my scrapbooking more productive.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn, your calender is so gorgeous, I will miss your wonderful creations, I always love it when your name pops up on my dashboard.hope you are comfortable and not too ill, especially at this time of the year.
ReplyDeletemy favourite christmas present was finding out I was pregnant at 35 when I was told the wasn't ever any hope of having a child.
keep warm and safe love chris xx
My favorite Christmas gift was my first sewing machine that my husband bought me our first Christmas. We'll be married 20 years this Christmas and I still love using it to sew my dolls and things. LOVE your beautiful work and look forward to keeping up with your blog. I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteDawn, so sorry to hear that you have been unwell. I hope that your recuperation goes well (please don't be missing for too long), and that you will be well enough to enjoy your christmas. Lovely calendar, that father christmas is lovely. I think my all time favourtie christmas pressie has to be my tiny tears. I loved this doll, and my mum and nan knitted her an entire wardrobe. I never went anywhere without her.
ReplyDeleteOhhh Dawn,So wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHugs Riet.x
I am so sorry that you are unwell, Dawn. I sincerely hope that rest is all you need and that your health issues will not spoil your Christmas. I love your calendar page. It's beautifully simple. And I appreciate the chance to win some Christmas candy. As for the best gift...gosh, I do try to appreciate every gift I receive and I have certainly had some great ones. The best gift I ever gave though was a trip for hubby and I to Las Vegas and LA. I made a large collage showing the airplane and the hotel and some Vegas and Hollywood sites, put it in a large clip frame and wrapped it up for Christmas. Hubby thought the collage was the gift to start with rather than the trip! Wishing you health and happiness! Lesley
ReplyDeleteDawn...was so sorry to hear of your medical struggles....may a speedy and full recovery be the result.....will keep you in my prayers and thoughts
ReplyDeleteYour calendar is really creative and such a wonderful and practical gift.....
Thanks for being a source of inspiration for me....I'll be missing your creations during your recovery.....
hugs
joanne
Hi Dawn...I hope you are on the road to recovery. I have just gone through some health issues and surgery too, so I know it is NO fun!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog candy...I am slowly building up my supply of copics...so this is awesome.
My most favorite gift I ever received was not for Christmas....but my husband gave me a gold heart charm when we were first dating. He said "If I give you my heart, will you promise not to break it"...corny I know. Guess What! I lost the heart charm...the link broke and it fell off my gold chain. I was devastated. What did he do....he bought me another one...exactly the same. I still have it and wear it close to my heart some 24 years later.
HUGS to you Dawn!
Gloria
Praying for you continually today as I have been Dawn! Hoping you are feeling much better in "no time at all"!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift was one I gave to my hubby. I somehow managed to buy a canoe up in Maine which he really wanted... I took it to a friends house to store until Christmas and while we were all at church on Christmas Eve he and another friend slipped out, took the canoe to the house and hid it behind our little shed. It was bright red and sat in the white snow vividly! In the morning light I could see it out there as it was longer than the shed but Alan never noticed and I did a little hunt for him. He was so surprised he almost cried. It was such a happy time!
Hoping you will soon be up and at it again with a new vigor!!! Hugs and prayers,
Grace
Sorry to hear that you are having medical issues. Praying for a speedy recovery and peace as you rest (and try to ignore the things around you that need to be done).
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas gift would be the joy of sharing precious time with my family, playing games together and of course any stamping goodies! Last year DH spoiled me with a whole stash of Just Rite Stamps.
Thanks for your fabulous inspiration in 2010!!
Beth Greco

ReplyDeleteOh Dawn...I'm so sorry to read that you're going through some hard times right now. I will keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery - hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift was a doll I received when I was 12. I thought I was too big for dolls until I received this one. My mother had made a whole overnight bag full of clothes for my doll! Dresses, Sleepers, gowns, slips and socks too! It was a wonderful Christmas and I still think of that to this day. My Mom has been gone for several years, but her memories are with me every day!
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn!! I so love your brilliant calendars!!! This is just an adorable Santa image!! :) HUGS
ReplyDeleteI will miss you in blogland but am sending hugs and prayers your way for wisdom and healing as you deal with your health issues! My favorite gift came soon after we were married...my husband totally surprised me by having a piano delivered to our home while we were at his mother's for Christmas dinner. I was so shocked when we got home!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are having medical problems. I hope you will get better soon. I will miss your wonderful creations. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift of all time, was when I had a part time job, and got my husband a beautiful ring and necklace from Black Hills Gold. When he opened the package, he said - "Oh, what did your do". It has been many years since then, and he never takes them off, and gets several wonderful comments on the items often.

Hope that you have a blessed holiday season! my favorite gift that I have given was a crocheted blanket to my new in-laws. I worked on it for about a month and then sent it to them in Connecticut. My mother in law keeps it hanging on her chair and all of the grandkids love to snuggle with it
ReplyDeletetanyainjville at yahoo dot com
Hi Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear you're not too well at the moment. I really hope you are able to have plenty of rest and can enjoy the festive season with your family.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite present was when I was 10 years old, and my Dad fixed up one of those old box record players - those ones where you could stack a few 45s on at once and they dropped down in turn! Being able to play my own music in my bedroom was just the best thing ever! x
Hello!
ReplyDeleteI love your calendar - beautiful in its design to showcase the creation for the month!
I guess I don't have a favorite Christmas gift - there are many good memories. I love giving and opening presents so all of them are special! I just love everything about the season! The music, the colors, the decorations, everything! I guess because it is so happy!
I hope that you are feeling better soon - sending good wishes for many good days until you feel yourself again!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Dawn - I hope you are feeling better soon. The holidays are no time to be unwell so speedy healing thoughts to you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift of all time... hmmmm... It would have to be the transistor radio I got from my Godfather in the 4th grade. It was the neatest thing ever - green and it had an ear piece and it was all mine. Now of course, this is WAY BACK when such things weren't common so it was really slick.
One of the best gifts my dh & I have given was a donation in honor of family members to a local medical clinic that offers care to those who cannot afford to pay. That's what Christmas is all about.
ReplyDeleteWell first of all, I'm sorry to hear you'll be away from your blog for awhile and that you are having some medical issues. I pray everything is alright.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Xmas gift has to be when I was just a little girl and found a beautiful doll under the tree. I have no idea why I even remember it, or why it meant so much to me, but I loved it.
Lynette told our Yahoo group about your blog. You are very talented! Love what I saw. Prayers coming your way, too. Hope all goes well for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift looking back was a time when two sisters and their families and a nephew and his family were all gathered together in a small house in Oklahoma. Hope all goes well with your medical procedure.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll be soon feeling better and able to enjoy the holidays! My favorite gift came when I was about 5 and was a doll from Santa that walked and had the same color hair as mine. Mother even made lots of extra clothes for her. I named her Peggy and I still have her!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous coloring on that Santa! Love it :o)
ReplyDeleteFave Christmas gift of all time was probably when I got a new bike when I was about 11. I hated my little girl pink and purple bike and just wanted to be a big girl. lol
I just joined you blog and am amazed at your beautiful and creative work...thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite Christmas gift was my first Teddy Bear...I still have a collection today!
God Bless You!
One of my favorite Christmas presents was when I was 7 years old, I received a bride doll which was so special to me.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and will miss you while you are away getting well. You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

sorry to hear you're having health issues. No fun at any time but especially at the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win some blog candy.
My favorite would probably be when i was a little girl and my aunt and uncle gave me this big box to unwrap. Low and behold there were about 5 more boxes within, until I came to this very pretty watch.
My favorite gift was a wicker chest. While starving college students, my dh and I would walk through Wal-mart and say, "Some day we can come in here and buy ANYTHING we want." I had lived in Florida and loved a wicker chest we saw at Wal-Mart, as I missed that style while living in the cold north, but we just couldn't afford it. It seemed so far off to have real income back then as students. My dh was working a lot of extra hours one fall semester and I was so frustrated that I hardly got to see him. But then, for Christmas, was that beautiful wicker chest- he had worked extra hours to earn money to buy it for me. What a special guy! And here we are 31 years later...
ReplyDeleteThanks for rekindling that memory. ;)
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Pamela
I would have to say my best Christmas gift of all was the birth of my daughter's first child on Dec. 24th in 1985 and then our visit to see the new baby in Atlanta, GA (we live in cold, wintery, Iowa. Sending prayers for your speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a Merry Christmas and a fast recovery, Dawn! It's no fun, but it will get better. (I had to undergo the same procedure when I was 30). Take card of yourself and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteMy fave Christmas present was when I was 6. My sis, bro and I all rec'd little Indian outfits. Of course I looked a little funny because I woke up Christmas morning w/ the chicken pox.
I hope your recovery is going well and you're getting some rest. One of my favorite gifts was a donation of a goat to a family in Africa.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn, I hope that you are feeling better soon. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to get some rest.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite gifts was a memory box my sister made for my dad. He cried.
Hugs and Blessings,
Deb
Dawn, I am so sorry to hear that you are having medical trouble, you really inspire me with your beautiful cards. I'll miss seeing your cards, but I'll be praying for you and that you will have a great Christmas, even though you aren't feeling well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gifts I gave is a electric jewelry cleaner for my Dad for his treasures he found while metal detecting. And when we surprised my parents with a trip, one year (they never had a honeymoon after they married). Even though we went without any gifts and a nice dinner that Christmas, the meaning of it's better to give then to receive was really learned that year. It really blessed us, as that was the last trip with my Dad before he passed away.
And my favorite gift I received was the second Christmas my husband and I were married he bought me a a KitchenAid mixer, I had been coveting. That was the biggest surprise, to receive that since we'd just bought a house and didn't have hardly any money left over.
I'm so sorry to hear of your medical issues Dawn and pray that it's nothing serious. My prayers will be with you. Please don't enter me in the blog candy, I just wanted to stop by, visit and say hi.
ReplyDeleteDawn, I hope your recovery is going well. I have 2 daughters born in December. Holding little babies as we celebrated the birth of Jesus reminded me how much God loved me that he would send his son as a little baby, knowing that he would also let His little baby grow up and die for my sins. I got to have that Christmas gift 2 times.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift of all time...was a doll when I was a little girl...its name was Crissy, you pushed a button on her back, pulled her pony tail and her hair grew LOL
ReplyDeleteI hope you're recuperating is going well. I'm sure a few Eskimo kisses from your daughters would help!!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards! I'm thinking positive thoughts for you. Great Christmas gifts? The ones we give to others filled with love.
ReplyDeleteWhat a prize Dawn. Wow. I just love your calendar. That is soooo cute and looks great at the top of your blog. What a cute Santa. Thank you for your comment on my blog today. You must be resting with your computer. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOOps forgot to put my favorite Christmas gift of all time. That is a hard one. But it would have to be the large size scriptures I asked for and my husband got them for me with a case and he wrote on the inside of the cover of my bible and it was so touching. I can read it whenever I want. That was the best Christmas gift.
ReplyDeleteDawn - this is probably my FAVORITE calendar yet. that santa is SO cute!
ReplyDeletefavorite gift? hmm. was it the year my husband and i purchased the exact same gift for each other (my daughter did the wrapping but never said a word), or the year my husband bought me a four-wheeler (i really wanted one, but he was such a sneak about it!). i've had many wonderful gifts over the years, and all have touched my heart!
Hope your recovery is quick. My favorite Christmas gift was when our two teenage boys gave my husband and me a gift card that they had drawn with the Statue of Liberty and the New York skyline good for a trip to New York for the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center. They had scrimped and saved all year from their part-time jobs to give us airline tickets and a nice hotel right in Manhattan. That is one Christmas gift I will cherish forever.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite gifts was my first big sewing machine--it lasted many years! Cute calendar too.
ReplyDeleteDawn, I want to thank you for your comments on my cards. You're a jewel! I've always thought you have the gift of encouragement! Be well!
ReplyDeleteI loved the fold up bicycle my husband gave me... got a lot of use and easy to store. Love the calendar you've made.
ReplyDeleteHope all is going well with you, Dawn....I'm sending prayers for a speedy recovery!!!
ReplyDeleteYour calendar is absolutely adorable...such a cute Santa!!
I have had so many wonderful Christmas celebrations through the years but the one that really sticks out is the first Christmas after my DD Holly was born...she was 10 days old and such a joy!!! The gifts of love and family are the best ever!!
Hi Dawn, first I want to wish you get well soon and pray for a fast recovery, you are a very inspiring woman and I´m so very glad I found your blog sometime ago, it´s always so good to come and see what you did, it feels like opening a present!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift as a child was a little angel I got from Santa when I was 7 y-o, sadly I don´t have it anymore... I moved to different cities on my country, then I moved to another country (twice...) but I still remember it with a lot of affection: it was a very simple little angel made out of burlap, two pieces of wire covered with raffia made its arms and legs, the head was a wooden ball with eyes and mouth drawn with fine lines, the hair was of yellow wool, the wings were made of felt and the halo was a golden glittered wire... so cute!
Thank you for the give away, so very generous of you!
And all your calendars are fantastic, love them all! Have a great day, and take care of yourself, hugs,
My favorite Christmas gift was when I was 6 years old. We had taken a family trip to Mexico over the holidays. It was strange being on a warm beach when I grew up with cold and snow, but I remember getting my Raggedy Ann and Andy that still sit on a bed in my guest room! I wanted those dolls so badly!
ReplyDeleteDawn, your blog is always so inspiring!
When I was given my flute I was so happy. A few tuneups and repairs many years later, I still play it.
ReplyDeleteDawn, wishing you all the best with your medical issues. You will be in my prayers and thoughts. Don't enter me in your giveaway - Ijust wanted you to know I was thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better. All the best with a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteA special gift we gave our mother at Christmas, was I asked everyone to write a fave memory of a time or experience spent with her on the back of cardboard hearts I'd cut out. I put them in a little memory box - something special she could enjoy all year round, and fun for us too.
This is fantastic! Love that Santa! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying this trip down memory lane and Christmases past.
ReplyDeleteI was over the moon as a child to receive a pink wind up poodle... in lieu of getting a real poodle. Funny how our tastes change as we get older, but it was the perfect gift for me at the time.
Hope you are doing better today.
My favortie Christmas gift was my son.....he came home from the hospital in a red Christmas stocking....but guees what...he will be 38 this December....wow...am I really that old...lol....hope you are feeling better and up and "at em" soon!!
ReplyDeletewhoops...forgot to add...I LOVE the calender!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Santa on your calendar. He's really sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite gift given to our DD was a playmobil doll house. Usually she's very reserved and doesn't react much but when she opened this she was just jumping up and down with delight. I've got a picture of it or no one would believe me. We spent many hours playing dolls that year. :-) Happy memories because that little girl is now 22 and coming home for Christmas on December 23. :-) Another chance for more memories!
Hope your feeling better soon!
Beth Greco
I really liked my bicycle I got in intermediate school. What a surprise! And I still have it today.
ReplyDeleteI love the new Flourish release card you made. It makes me think of spring!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling calendar page! My favorite Christmas gift??? I think I would have to say that it was the "I love you" ring that my husband gave me before we were married.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a deal. If I win, that will be my favorite Christmas gift!! Until then, my favorite Christmas gift(s) are my children. One was due 12/21 and the other on 12/25. They both ended up coming on 12/30. What more could you ask for!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful calendar Dawn! I hope you are on the mend in no time! I'd have to say the best gift I ever got was seeing my 5 month old enjoy the twinkle of his first Christmas tree! The best gift ever!
ReplyDeleteWe gave our family a Chritsmas cruise one year. It was a perfect gift as we were all together and no one had to cook or clean up. We all still talk about it with fond memories many years later.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog recently. My favorite Christmas gift was a Nursery Rhyme book my godfather gave me, I still have and cherish that book. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're taking care of yourself! I thought of another favorite gift. It was a Bible from my Grandmother.
ReplyDeleteTripping down memory lane I fondly remember the Christmas my parents gave me my first bicycle. It was second hand and my dad had painted it blue. I was so thrilled with it. My very own bike and I rode to school and back on it every day. Great memories.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn, I already listed my fav gift :) Thanks for letting me play
ReplyDeleteFondest memory of kid gift: Dad worked for a drug store supplier company and he'd get to do some employee shopping on Christmas Eve. So instead of wrapped gifts, we'd have a "basket" of small gifts (socks and such since we had a big family and all gifts needed to be necessities) that Dad picked up at the sale for employees.
ReplyDeleteOh Dawn, I hope you are feeling better. I missed this post along the way. I am praying for you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift was when I received my engagement ring on Christmas and Scott proposed. It is a Christmas I will always treasure.
hugs,
Chris
I still remember the gift my hubby gave me on our second Christmas after we were married. We were living on a tight budget and I was making a lot of gifts--sewn and cross-stitched, but altered patterns or designed my own to save money. After watching what I'd been through and what I was using for making these gifts, my hubby gave me a pad of graph/grid paper and a spool of red thread and a spool of green thread for Christmas that year. I was so thrilled because he figured out all on his own that these would be the perfect gifts for me--that I could really use a pad of graph/grid paper to help me design my patterns (and he was right--it was a huge help!!) and that I was using up a LOT of red and green thread for Christmas projects and would be completely out soon. Yes, I know--not a spectacular gift at all, but it was one of the most meaningful to me because of all the thought put into figuring out the perfect gifts for me. And these were *just* what I needed!
ReplyDeleteHope you are on the mend now.
ReplyDeleteA fave gift I gave was to my sister when we were children. I sewed a Snoopy dog for her on my newly acquired second hand sewing machine. She just loved it. I enjoyed her delighted reaction so much, and even have a photo of her opening the gift, to relive the memory.
Love your calendar, Dawn! And I hope you are well on the mend and looking forward to the holidays!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift would have to be the joy of having my family with me on Christmas morning. We have 3 children, all grown with families of their own. But the past two years, even though they all live within 5 miles, they all spent the night here at our home so we could all be together Christmas Eve and morning. It has been the most special time for us. We have 4 grandchildren (3 of them still little)and there's nothing like having little children around to totally exude happiness around you! What a blessing my family is!!
First I hope you are recuperating well and speedily!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift was when I was 10 and Santa brought me a guitar....
One of my favorite gift was a huge dump of fresh snow on Christmas Eve so we had amazing fresh powder to ski in the next day, along with a few new articles of ski clothing we got Christmas Eve :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! Very cute calender! One of my favorite gifts I received was a camera!! The polariod I received in high school and the DSLR I received a couple of years ago!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, I loved the Barbie dream house I got one year! Hope you're doing well!!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember getting a game that made you guess a code. I played with that thing for hours! Great blog candy and hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fave Christmas gifts was the first Christmas after I left home, my mother made a tiny hand sewn pink gingham elephant for me with a hand sewn flower on its ear - so many memories.
ReplyDeleteMy red coat...everyone who knows me in person knows the coat I mean :) Great candy...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteA poem my son wrote especially for me and gave me at Christmas... precious and priceless.
ReplyDeleteLove the calendar. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the gift of becoming a member of my blog. I hope your recovery is speedy and complete.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a great holiday gift! My favorite "gifts" are the memories of all the special people in my life (both still here and now gone) who made our holidays so great. Even as adults Mom always had stockings for us and included a book to keep us quiet and busy on Christmas Day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas present was a calendar my brother put together to my sister and I. He has gathered photos of our family growing up and they were featured each month. I will treasure it always. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and hope your holiday season will be merry and brights! Thanks for the chance to win a wonderful gift.

Hi Dawn - Thanks for popping by my blog to say hello. It was lovely of you to visit. Hope today is a good day for you. Thanks for rekindling some fave Christmas memories...
ReplyDeleteI fondly remember my eldest son's first Christmas and the cuddly monkey puppet he received. It was his fave toy for years. He now has his own family, but still has the monkey puppet... a treasured family memory.
When my daughter was only 3, she informed us that Santa was giving her a baby in a basket. This kept coming up and she just knew this is what she was getting. How could we let her down. We were visiting my parents so after she went to bed we placed an adorable baby doll in a basket under the tree. The next morning my daughter found the doll and grabbed it from under the tree. She turned to me with a huge smile and said, "See, I knew it."
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about this - thanks for refreshing such a sweet memory.
Thinking of you and hoping and praying that everything is okay. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn!! I shared my fave memory I've had with our own family. Here is one to make you smile today of when I was growing up. We didn't have much money at all...so my mom would wrap up all these little gifts, it didn't matter if it was a scarf or underwear, it would be under the tree, individually wrapped. Well one year, she thought she would be sneaky and throw us kids off by not labeling any of our gifts. So when it came time to open one, we had to rely on her memory. That was the year my brother opened a package of pink nylon panties for me. We were both mortified!! :)
ReplyDeleteDawn, you've really struck a chord with me with providing this opportunity to reminisce - opening a treasure trove of wonderful memories. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteOne Christmas, our son and daughter in law gave my husband and I vouchers for a Thai Cooking Class at a well respected Thai restaurant. Our son came along too, and we had such a fab time - a wonderful shared family experiece we still talk about.
Thinking of you today, and hope you are recuperating well.
As a child, my father drove a truck for a living. He hauled coal and sold it to people who burned it in their stoves for warmth. One Christmas, he was late coming home...it had been snowing and Mom was so worried. She sent his brothers to try and find him. They came back several hours later with my Dad in tow; he had broken down and been stranded. He was so cold, he sat behind the stove and cried as the feeling came back. He was my Christmas present that year!
ReplyDeleteIn reading some of the comments, there have been some very special times for many of us. When I was a child, my dad was a minister and we were very poor. There were 6 of us children (5 girls)and we learned to be happy with what we had. One year my parents took us shopping and we went to look at stuffed animals. I never had a stuffed toy and loved them. We all picked out ones we liked but knew that we wouldn't have the money to get them.
ReplyDeleteThen we did other necessary shopping and headed home. Guess what was waiting for us under the tree Christmas morning. I had picked out a big teddy bear and I still have it.
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, I entered my fav gift in my earlier post! Thanks
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous Christmas gift was my Cuttlebug. I use it on just about every card and can't imagine not having it :)
ReplyDeleteDawn, I don't know how I missed this earlier. I am glad to see you are on the mend, I saw three post on my blog from you. from what I hear it is a long recovery.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite gifts at Christmas was giant puzzle reindeer that my husband and kids made for me to burn in the fire place. I laughed all day over that silly gift. That year we also got a trip to Hawaii, which wasn't too bad either!
Love your card with Santa! I hope you're feeling better with each passing day. Since I've already told of my favorite gift, I'll tell you of one I had yesterday. My cantata group sang at a church about 15 miles south of my home. It was a beautiful church and I got to see an old friend that I didn't know attended. We had a great visit--what a special gift!
ReplyDeletethis year we gave my daughter a train set-she loved it!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is sure a generous gift for our crafters...I love copics so much and they can become quite expensive when you are on a budget like me. But my collection is nearing 20 now so that would be cool to win some.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the best gift I ever got for Christmas was a heart ring when I was 12. My friends all had 2 hearts on theirs, and that is what I originally wanted, but my mom could only afford one, but you know all my friends wanted one like mine. Wasn't that cool! I just love it so much and my parents for going to all the trouble to find one for me.
Kindly, Peggyxo
Keep well little Dawn, I love you sooooxoxoxo
Hope you are feeling better. This is such a bad time to not feel well but just take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteLast night my daughter called. She is a senior in college and will be home soon. She wanted to know what we wanted for Christmas. I informed her that having her home for a few weeks was enough for me. This reminded me of a special gift she bought me a few years ago. I was so surprised when I opened the envelope she handed me. In it was a gift certificate for a massage at a local spa. I had never had one and she wanted me to have some special time for myself to help me relax and get away from it all. She said she couldn't afford a cruise so this was the best she could do. Wow!! I loved it.
Hi Dawn~
ReplyDeleteI don't know when you switched it up...but love the new banner...so calm.
Your calendar is wonderful. The time will pass quickly, and even though I do not know the reason, I will pray for a quick and complete recovery for you.
One of my favorite Christmas presents was to give my 1-year-od grandson (at the time) a red, tricycle...complete with the plastic strings off the handlebars, and the little step you can give a buddy a ride on. He WAS ONE YEAR OLD!! What was I THINKING?? He was barely walking...but he would stand next to it, and hold the bars...and WOOSH! He would run to keep up with it! So funny...and no stitches!
Thanks for your generosity with another one of your amazing blog candy give-aways. You have a wonderful heart.

Hi Dawn,
ReplyDeleteFor my first Christmas I was 29 years-old...so no fond memories of Christmas' past. I was so happy to have my little tree and white lights...which I read my Bible under and slept under it...until April! This is true.
It was wonderful!

I'm still reminiscing... so many wonderful memories and lovely to read about other people's Christmases as well.
ReplyDeleteIt was a dream come true when my husband gave me a trip to the US to experience my first White Christmas... a gift of wonderful lifelong memories.
Glad to hear you are progressing with your recovery! My favorite thing of Christmas is to spend time with family. This seems to be of the few times we have quality time with our Children!
ReplyDeleteThis has been an amazing season! I left my fav gift of all time on my prior entry! Thanks for the chance to win and Merry Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteOne Christmas I will never forget is my first Christmas away from home. I was working with Billy Graham in Amsterdam at the time. I bought my own tree but didn't have a tree stand so used a jar and taped the jar to two slats of wood that made an X (Had to tape those too as I didn't have a hammer or nails). Then I went out and bought some wonderful Christmas decorations (which I still have to this day) and decorated my tree. Had a great dinner with others who stayed in town and enjoyed celebrating the birth of Christ thousands of miles from home but with other Christians that made it such a great time and memory to this day.
ReplyDeleteAwesome calendar and THANKS for the chance to win. I do hope you are recouperating wonderfully - hopefully able to do a 'bit' of crafting?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift was from my hubby last year. Both my parents journeyed to heaven far to early and I miss them terribly. He had a custom maid stained glass piece made of elements that represent each of my parents to me personally. It's truly a treasured piece in my home.
Another Christmas gift I love is a white Christmas...living in the South, that hardly ever happens. This year may be the exception!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to choose which gift was the best over the years. One year my husband bought me a new necklace and hung it on a branch of our tree. I was flitting around that tree for weeks and never saw it! Sometimes, we just cannot see the forest for the trees!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog. I am for sure bookmarking it. I really enjoy your colored images. You do nice work.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift was one that my husband and I gave our boys one year. We had gotten them a basket ball goal and hid it at the neighbors house. The nice thing about it was it went in to his garage in a BIG box and when we asked about getting it to put together for our boys, he replied "All ready put together..figured you wouldn't have the time". Great gift for the boys and a super helpful surprise for us.
Your Home Is Where the Heart Is card is so pretty. The wooden heart just sets it off! I hope your recovery is going well.
ReplyDeleteI think this will be one of the best Christmas' ever. My Mom is healthy and finally happier than I've seen her in years. God has blessed her far more than she could ever think or ask!

Another wonderful Christmas gift is the gift of family during the Holidays. This year everyone is struggling all over the states and my wish for everyone is, Health, and family.
ReplyDeleteOK, I've been thinking about it and wanted to share one of the best-ever Christmas presents I received as a child. I remember asking Santa one year for peanut butter and jelly sandwich in my stocking (which we always opened first on Christmas morning) so I wouldn't have to stop the present opening to eat breakfast. And would you believe, he delivered!! In subsequent years, it became a frosted donut, right there in my stocking, so I wouldn't have to slow down to eat. Silly, right? But the best!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful idea for a calendar using a digi image. I'll try to make one for next year. My favorite Christmas gift of all time was when my husband and I gave our 2 kids all their wishes for Christmas. That was 10 years ago. We told them to make a list of all their wishes. They were simple and inexpensive toys as they were only 7 & 9 yrs. old at that time. On christmas morning we played treasure hunt with clues.I can't forget the joy in their faces when they went from one clue to another to look for their gifts 'cause they were expecting only one. The house was a mess but the laughter is priceless.; )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift, is when I got saved in 1975.:)
ReplyDeleteYou're working the old brain cells hard, Dawn, having to come up with another gift LOL! I think one of the wonderful Christmas gifts I got year over year for a while was spending Christmas as a family up at our cabin at Whistler and skiing. that was back in the 70's when Blackcomb didn't exist and they only opened the mountain for 4 hours on Christmas day. Perfect for us as we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve so with the early mountain closure on CE we got home in plenty of time to get our dinner and gifts opened, got to sleep in on Christmas Day as the mountain didn't open till 10:00 a.m. and had a fabulous day skiing as most people were celebrating Christmas in the morning. Was great fun taking candy canes to the employees who had to work and wishing them a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAdded to that, one Christmas we got a TON of snow and I remember sitting downstairs with the Christmas tree on and the lights turned off and just watching the snow fall. Totally amazing atmosphere and a fabulous opportunity to reflect on the birth of Christ and God's love for us.
Am so sorry you have been having a difficult time healthwise Dawn. Hope you are feeling a lot better now.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite gift for Christmas was the birth of my son many years ago now on the 24th December. Annette x
Your gorgeous Christmas Fairy Holly card reminded me of a darling Christmas Santa brooch my son made for me in Preschool as a special Christmas gift.
ReplyDeleteHe and his Dad wrapped it with such care. It's on our Chrismas tree every year as a decoration now... a special Christmas memory we can all enjoy every year.
Hi Dawn!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and have enjoyed looking at your creations. Your coloring is beautiful. I pray that you will get fully recovered from your illness and that you will be able to enjoy your Christmas
I have enjoyed reading all the comments. Some have given me a tear in my eye.
I have just had my kidney removed two months ago because of cancer. Three years ago I had both breast removed because of cancer. I think being here to see Christmas 2010 is the best gift of all and I just praise the Lord for my healing. Each day is a gift.
Hugs Maz
my son's first christmas is this year. that's a pretty good gift! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn~
ReplyDeletePraying for you. One of my favorite gifts I have given Dave, my husband, was when I took a photo of this incredible park building and it's surroundings in SanFran where he proposed to me. I had it blown up to poster size, and framed and matted. It is hung over his dresser at the end of our bed. It is a beautiful scene and memory to start and end our days with!

Another favorite gift of minewas last year....my husband blew me away with a Cricut Exoression, a Gypsy and a new printer......wow...I was totally amazed he even listened!
ReplyDeleteMost all my presents over the years have been "My favorite". Anoter best gift I received was my husband. We found each other late in life, but he is truly my soul mate! We both love Christmas and celebrate to the fullest each and every year we have together!
ReplyDeleteone of the neatest gifts I got this year from my mom was a picture frame that says family. she said she had waited 4 yrs. to give it to me. inside were pictures of her at 4 yrs. old (the youngest picture of herself she has as she was adopted then), one of me at 4, and one of my daughter who just turned 4. what an amazing gift!
ReplyDeletehope you feel better soon! I got my 9 month old son these sing-a-ma-jigs for Christmas. They are silly toys, but his face lights up every time he sees one. :)
ReplyDeleteI liked whenever Dad got me a gift that was too big to bring into the house he would wrap up the instruction booklet or something small that went with it. It was a surprise!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are all the ornaments I've been collecting since my parents started giving me some every year since I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteThis year I would just love to get a new job. I got laid off last December and am still waiting so here's to new beginnings!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery and a healthy new year.
ReplyDeleteI remember one Christmas, years ago when our children were young, I received from my family a small box with a handwritten note tucked inside telling me where to find another box. This box also contained a note leading to yet another box. This continued on until the final box held a beautiful mother's ring. I cherish my ring, but those little boxes, which I wrapped, stacked together, and tied with ribbon, still contain those handwritten notes along with the memories of the giggling and silliness that accompanied me on my quest that Christmas. These boxes have a special place in our home (and my heart) every Christmas. There is so much love packaged inside of them!
one of the best gifts I could ever get is more time with my family! love having everyone together eating great food, and telling great stories.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Christmas and thinking of a favourite Christmas where my husband bought me our first family Christmas tree. We still use it every year - a wonderful gift.
