Strawberry Recipe1

I chose the savory  Strawberries Set.. This summer my daughter and I have
been trying new jam recipes.. This is our favorite.  I created a little pocket
for my recipe to slip into.. This way I can write a message on the inside of the
card and my daughter can still have the recipe and a beautiful card.

Strawberry Recipe2

Here is the recipe pulled out of the pocket.
I colored this with Prisma Pencils.. I added
a strawberry ceramic button and some May
Arts fiber and gingham ribbon.

Jam

The very last thing we did was decorate the tops of your jars. I used a
piece of fabric and stamped with stazon in the middle of my fabric
piece.  Then I colored VERY CAREFULLY with my copics collections
from Flourishes I used:  Gerber Daisey Collection
Don't saturate the fabric too much or it will bleed. I was even able to blend two
colors on the peaches.

I used the Cherries and Peaches set for the peach jam and the Strawberry set for
the strawberry jam.. This is going to be our Christmas gifts for this year.

Want to see what the rest of the team did... Check it out:

Flourishes is also having a 12 days of Christmas sale going on right now.. Check it
out HERE.. All Christmas sets are on sale for 25% off.

  4. Yum Yum. I prefer raspberries to strawberries, to be honest, especially in jam, but this sounds good - not too much sugar to fruit. And I love your card :D.

  17. What a wonderful project. I love homemade strawberry jam. It makes me think of the year I lived in Greenbay WI, and my neighbor and I took our girls strawberry picking and then we made jam with them.

  18. Fantastic project, Dawn! I love the recipe card, and the scalloped pocket in the corner reminds me of the little pot covers my Mum used to use when she made jam! Mmmm, I really fancy a slice of bread and jam now with a cup of tea...

  19. What a brilliant idea for your jam recipe, I love the look of those strawberries. We've started growing strawberries, but not enough for jam (to be truthful so far we only have 2 ripe strawberries lol) x

Not only are you inspiring me with these beautiful projects, but also to try to be more proactive in finding things to do with my older daughters...they aren't ususally ones to craft, but maybe canning? Ya never know...but either way these are great homespun projects that exude country charm...love them both!!
