Flourishes Friday Focus

coasters3
Happy Friday everyone.. It is time for another Friday Focus over at Flourishes.
This week we are focusing on an altered project..  I chose to make a coaster.
I created several coasters.. The one above turned out the best.  I did not
stamp on the coasters I stamped on white tissue paper.. Then used
Modge Podge and painted the coast with it and then carefully added
the tissue paper over the coaster. It becomes transparent then.. I carefully
smoothed out my paper and added another thin coat over top. When it was
dry I sprayed it with a sealer.. Very easy gift.

I used stazon ink and copics

for the floral one I did.  I also printed on printed my son's picture
by taping a piece of tissue paper to a sheet of cardstock and running
it through the printer.. This was my Father's Day gift to my hubby.  He
loved it.

I used the newly released Life Lines for my sentiments. The butterflies
are from Fanciful Flourishes.  The florals are the trumpet vine from
Humming Along. I carefully colored it with my Copic Collections
Violet from Flourishes..

If you decide to try this be sure that your stazon ink pad is juicy.. :)
Otherwise your stamp will stick to your tissue paper.  I purchased my tiles
from the local home improvement store.

  11. These turned out just beautiful, Dawn! I've never done coasters, but I'll definitely keep the tissue paper in mind. What a great idea! I'm sure the tissue paper principle could be used for other projects with an uneven surface, too. Gee, thanks for a great tip!!

  13. Hi Dawn~

What a wonderful way to display your art! I love the one of your son...it is the perfect gift! Oh, wouldn't they make wonderful wedding party favors? A picture of the bride and groom? Maybe for the family and close friends attending! You are so sharp!

I have been planning on using this technique to attempt to make different coasters with matching set of cards for family members this year, for Holiday gifts. We'll see if it ever happens! LOL

You are so talented. Thank you for sharing your secret recipe for these coasters!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday!

  16. Be still my heart. I read your directions and you fooled me that you didn't stamp right onto the title. I'm going to remember this and do what you did. TFS.
