New Year Resolutions

Mo's sending Peacesmallimage222use

It's time for another challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.  This week Lydia
challenged us to create a card that represented New Beginnings..
I chose MO's Sending Peace image.. Isn't she beautiful.
I added my "keywords" for 2010...

I colored her with Prisma Pencils, added glitter and then put her
on this picture easel. I plan on keeping this on my desk
to remind me of my resolutions for the new year.

MO'ssending peaceDec31st

I am also adding this to the Flutter By Wednesday's challenge number 90. .
It is an open challenge as long as we use a fairy, angel or butterfly. I have
been wanting to join in on this challenge and finally got a chance to play.

Then I saw that Artful Inkables  The Think Ink  Tuesday challenge is to create a card representing your New Years Resolutions.. I think this counts..

As 2010 approaches I want to do some evaluating.. I want to refocus on areas
that will improve "me"..
Dreams.... I want to follow my dreams
Peace... I want peace in our economy and our world
Hope... I want hope for the future
Faith... I want to strengthen my Faith
Create...I want to try new forms of creating
Family...my main focus

I hope you have a wonderful new year.  May you surround yourself with
love and the things that matter the most.

Whimsie Doodle Gift Set

wd2

I am so excited about this project.  I completed most of it awhile ago but did not want to post it until I gave it away.. I wanted it to be a surprise.  I am loving this image from Whimsie Doodles.  It is so cute.  It is called Snow Friends.  It is a digi image.  I downloaded the image and then enlarged it to 6 x 6.  Then I printed the image out on white fabric.  (I use double sided tape to adhere the fabric to the paper and then sent it through the printer.)  I colored it with Copics.  I very carefully colored it because it does tend to bleed.  Light strokes work best.  I purchased the bag at Hobby Lobby.  I then added a border and used fusible webbing to fuse it to the bag.  You could stitch it too.  Inside the bag I stuck in some "snow" goodies (a snow background stamp, some sparkle snow glitter, a fabric envelope with pink ribbon inside).  My friend has all boys in her house and she needs some pink.  I then created a card with the same image..

My friend Holly has an awesome tutorial on how to print on fabric... Check it out HERE.

The sweet little snowman is so easy to make.. Just strips of fabric sewn together, some stuffing, then tie up the top with the ribbon.  I added the tag from this sweet set to the ribbon.

This is what inspired me:
Michelle's pursegifts

These sweet Magnolia bags arrived in my mailbox before Christmas. They were made by my friend Michelle and her mom.. Michelle stamped the images and her mom sewed the two pouches and colored the images.  She used a fabric medium on the images so the coloring would be permanent.  I am going to have a hard time using them because they are so special to me.  Michelle is one of those special stamping friends... You know the kind....She has blessed my life in many ways...

I am really looking forward to being a part of this design team. Lots of great things coming up so stay tuned.

I am adding this to the Digital Tuesday Challenge.. To create a Winter Scene with some sparkling snow.. I added flowersoft to the card but it is hard to tell in the photo..

Have a blessed day,

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  This Christmas was a tough one for me not being with my family but I had the most amazing day..We went to church last night and at the end of the service we all lit a candle and sang Silent Night as we walked outside to a manger scene.  The Pastor said a prayer and we blew out the candles.. I know I was not the only one in tears.

  The True Meaning Of Christmas
by Brian K. Walters

In todays' day and time,
it's easy to lose sight,
of the true meaning of Christmas
and one special night.

When we go shopping,
We say "How much will it cost?"
Then the true meaning of Christmas,
Somehow becomes lost.

Amidst the tinsel, glitter
And ribbons of gold,
We forget about the child,
born on a night so cold.

The children look for Santa
In his big, red sleigh
Never thinking of the child
Whose bed was made of hay.

In reality,
When we look into the night sky,
We don't see a sleigh
But a star, burning bright and high.

A faithful reminder,
Of that night so long ago,
And of the child we call Jesus,
Whose love, the world would know.

Those of you that know me will be surprised when you see this card..GASP it is a floral stamp..I get teased all the time about not using floral images when my SCS name is flowergal36. This new set from There She Goes called Garden Friends is amazing.  I love the font in the sentiments.  The floral image is beautiful.  It was inspired by one of Jessica's friends that has an incredible garden.  I colored this with prismas and added some glitter.  If you arrived here from the TSG blog you are right on track.  Your next stop is... GRETCHEN.  Check out the amazing design team's work and leave them so love..

Sisters In Christ

Faith'spatcard2
This last weekend I had the opportunity to meet the very first friend I met on SCS.. She commented on my card and we were fast friends.. If you spend any time at all on Splitcoast you know her. Pat Smethers and her husband Bill (aka Bubba) were here in NC and I drove over with another SCSer (Grace) to see them.. I wanted to give her and Grace something special.. I had already made Grace a card but when I saw this digital image at Designed2Delight Digital Stamps I knew it was the one I needed for Pat's card.  We have a group over on SCS that we call Sisters In Christ..I kept the card simple.. This image is perfect for that.. The pearls I used were in a RAK that Pat sent to me not too long ago..

Faith'spatbagI also made a gift bag for the gift using the same image..I embossed her wings with Gold Embossing powder.

I gave Pat and Grace each a beaded book mark that had an angel on one end and a cross on the other. I created them each one and they were so easy.. I found a tutorial on YouTube.  Then I added a daily inspirational book to go with it..
PATSbookmark2

I added this to the Stamping Sisters in Christ blog challenge #17. This week the theme is TREASURES.  You were to make a card or project with all your bling and treasures.  This is my first time playing in this challenge and I love it..

Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Thanks Pat and Bill for sharing your day with us. It was a pleasure and an honor meeting you both..

Now head on over to Designed2Delight Digital Stamps and take a look at the new challenge Faith has posted.  It is awesome.. I only wish I had time to play..

Have a terrific week,

Saturday Spotlight Challenge 11

SSHP11DawnB2.b
I created this card for the Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential Challenge this week.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil..  The template for this stocking is from
Whimsie Doodles.. She has some terrific templates.  My favorite music is old Christmas Hymns.. The kind you sing in church on Christmas Eve.  In general I like oldies music too but at Christmas time I look forward to the music that reminds us of the reason for this season.

For this week's challenge.....

The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to create something with the music in your soul! What do we mean? What is your favorite style of music? Is it country, rock, opera, Christmas music, or the oldies? Whatever your "music style", show us what it is on your creations! E.g.: Use a cowboy image for "country music", etc....get creative with it! Perhaps you can just create a "musical masterpiece"!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

For our Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

**One lucky winner from our challenge in Mister Linky this week drawn from random.org will receive these two fabulous images from the store!!** We got a combination of "country music" and the "beach boy" theme covered with these images!! LOL!!

Cathy from Paper Garden is graciously donating a store discount this week for the Saturday Spotlight readers. Check the Spotlight blog for the special code!!

Now how cool is THAT?!! Hurry and go shopping!!

Cathy has also created a special card JUST for this challenge too!! Go to the Saturday Spotlight blog to check it out along with all the other Spotlight Diva creations!! :)

So what do you say?!! Sounds easy, right? I can't wait to see what you come up with!! Turn on those tunes, get out your crafty supplies and play along with us!! We're singing your song!!! :)

BTW: This will be our last challenge of the year over at Saturday Spotlight. We will announce the winners for the Top 3 and random drawing on Dec. 18th at 3:00 PM (CST) and we will be back next year on January 2nd, 2010 to start another full and FUN year of Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenges just for YOU!! Thanks for making this such a fun year!!

Thank You Gloria

This week for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Lydia challenged us to create a Thank You card.  I have done so many Christmas cards I decided it was time to change it up a bit.  I love this image.  It is called Friday's Child and she is loving and kind.  This card reminds me of my sweet middle daughter.  I colored her to reflect my daughter.

This card is already in the mail because THIS is what I received in the mail yesterday. Can you believe it. I know I couldn't.

GLoria

My amazing friend Gloria knitted this beautiful lap blanket for me for Christmas.  It is so wonderful.. I was telling her that it is so cold in my stamping room and she thought I needed this to keep warm.. Thank you Gloria so much.. Your friendship means the world to me.. You are definitely a Friday Child..

Terrible Twos

I colored up some images yesterday and this one fit the sketch challenge on SCS today..
This is actually 3 images merged into one.. I used Photoshop Elements to do this.. See this post here.. My friend Holly also has a tutorial on her blog HERE.  There are many ways to do this and I love the way you can create any scene.. These sweet images are available at Mo's Digital Pencil.  The Terrible Twos are a set of four images you can get for $10.  I colored with Copics and Prisma Pencils.. This image took me quite some time but I love it.. Thanks so much for stopping by..

Designed2Delight Snow Dog

I had so much fun with this project. Today's challenge on SCS is to create a Shipping
Tag Box.. I wanted to use this new image I just got from Designed2Delight.. I just love it.
I filled my box with dog bones for my sister's dog.  The darn dog is eating the ornaments
off her tree.. I am including this in their Christmas package.

I colored my image with prisma pencils and copics.  Added chunky glitter at the bottom for my snow.. Go check out D2D's other sweet images...

Banana Split Sunday

2RB1262

This week's Featured Stamper on SCS is my awesome friend Michele.. I am dedicating this
card to her.. Her and I share a love for prisma pencils.. We have asked each other a million questions about coloring...We also share a love for farms and lots of kids..
It's time for Banana Split Sunday.. This week we were to create a card that reflected "warmth"  This image is so sweet and I think there is nothing warmer than a hand knitted hat and slippers.  The flower that adorns the corner is a RAK from my sweet sweet friend Sabrina.  She sent me a little purse with these crocheted flowers.. I thought they were perfect for this card.. The bling in the middle of the card is from my friend Jennifer.  She sent me a huge envelope of faux dew drops from Michael's floral dept.  I crocheted the top ribbon with some cotton thread. Colored with copics and prisma pencils.   Come join the fun over at 2RedBananas.  This stamp is available at the 2RedBananas Store.

Saturday Spotlight Challenge 10

snowflakecard

It is time for another Saturday Spotlight challenge.. This week we were to add a flower to the card we created.. I am not good with flowers but then I remembered that my sweet friend MariLynn had created a tutorial for these quilled roses.. She is so good at quilling. Here is the tutorial we did together on my blog...ROSES

I colored this image with copics first and then added my prisma pencils on top.  Here is a picture of the quilled rose up close.  I added some glitter to the edges.

I used this adorable image from Inktegrity. She has some really cute digi images. Create a Christmas card with a flower on it and add it to Mr Linky for your chance to win a gift certificate to Inktegrity.

Have a great stamping day,
