Sew Lucky

Dena PII

I needed a gift for my sister for her birthday.  I am one that  loves giving a handmade
gift.  She works in a school and is so good with the kids. So I created this
card using the Pure Innocence image.. These images are available
at My Favorite Things.  The back panel is a piece of fabric I stitched to the
cardstock.  The pattern on her dress is from a piece of burlap that I soaked
in clear copics blender solution (Saw Debbie Olson demo that at CHA)
You soak it and then quickly lay it onto the colored area you want to texture.  Don't let it sit too long.

Then I quilted her this bag.  I hope she likes it.  All of the fabric is from my local
sewing store.  Part of the proceeds go to St. Judes Children's Hospital..I like that.
Happy Birthday Sweet Sis....

Nothing But Blue Skies

BSwm

It's Friday Focus time again over at Flourishes.  This week Leslie is hosting and
she challenged us to use Background stamps.. I chose the Clouds Background
stamp available at Flourishes. I paired it up with the newly released
Sunflower set. I used the new Crystal Mosaic stickers to embellish.. This are
new in the Flourishes store.. You will love them.

I used the Copics Collections...Sunflower and Green Grass to color my sunflower.

This next card is for the Ways to Use It challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  Julia
always has some great challenges.  This week we were to use a photo in our creations.
My son brought home sunflower seeds and we grew them.. They were double his size.
I added the sunflowers from the Sunflower set to my picture.  Carefully cut them out after
I colored them with the Copics Collections from Flourishes that I mentioned above.

The BIG One

"Don't let yesterday use up too much of today."
[ will rogers ]

Halloween

Today's challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil is hosted by our terrific DT Leader
Peggy.. She challenged us to create a card with a Fall/Halloween theme.  I chose
The Big One from Mo's Digital Pencil.. Mo has some amazing new images out..I
colored my image first and cut it out.. Then I wanted a pumpkin.  So in a brainstorming
minute I came up with the following way to do it.  I used my Spellbinders
die Labels Ten.  I chose the biggest die and then cut out three.  I then cut off
the bottom to resemble a pumpkin as shown below

After I cut them out I stitched, sponged and ran them through with
the CB folder to give it some texture.  I then glued them together.
Added some Spellbinder leaves and a stem.

Come on over to Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and join us.

Here are a few challenges this fits into:
Cute Card Thursday:  Use Your Dies or Punches
Paper Cutz:  Anything Goes

Here is my little one with his big pumpkin. His aunt planted these pumpkins
in her garden in Indiana.. You can't even pick this thing up it is so heavy.

I Am BACK.....

Christmas Mailer

I have been away from my blog and stamping due to a family situation..I traveled back home for 3 weeks. It was so great to see my family. I got my girls all tucked in at college.  The house is so quiet.   I am hoping to get caught up because I have so many exciting projects I want to create.

I wanted to start  with a card for the Flourishes Monthly Christmas challenge.  This month Stacy's challenge was to create a mail friendly Christmas card.  I cheated just a tad because I wanted to enter it in a few other challenges too.    I used the beautiful set from Flourishes called Winter Bouquets.  The designer paper I chose is also from Flourishes and it is the Basic Grey Origins collection.
The chocolate ribbon is the cotton linen ribbon from the Flourishes Ribbon Collection.  I used my Copics Collection for the coloring.  Flourishes has the best combinations of copics sets.

I used the CPS 78 sketch for my layout.  You can find the challenge HERE.
I used 2 ribbons for the Christmas Stampin All Year Round:  HERE is that challenge.
Over at the Crazy Challenge Blog the theme is: Never Too Early For Christmas..HERE

For the Flourishes Noel Challenge here are the deets:
Here's how to play: Now flat can be subjective so let's say mailing your card with one postage stamp on the envelope. When you wrap it up with a bow, just link up to the SCS challenge thread here and you'll be in the running to win a Flourishes Christmas stamp set of your choice!! Just think, you'll get a jump start on your Christmas creations AND have a chance at winning stamps to make even more Christmas cards! Oh what fun it is!! Please use the Keyword FLLCNOEL4 if you upload to Splitcoast. You have until August 31st 5 pm EST to submit your cards and Flourishes will announce the winner with next month's challenge!

One of the things I did was meet some of the Flourishes ladies at CHA.  We had so much fun and left feeling inspired.  I can't wait for you all to see all the new stuff to come.  Flourishes is having a big sale right now so head on over and check it out.  FLOURISHES

Flourishes Release Day 1

It is time for another new release over at Flourishes.. I have two cards to show you
from the brand new set called Kids At Play.  This sweet set reminds me of
my kids.. My son loves to fish.  So I created a sunset scene with the boy fishing.
I used the Flourishes Classic White Cardstock on both cards. I really like
this cardstock for my cards.

This second card also uses one of the silhouette stamps in this set.
This sweet little girl and the make a wish sentiment are perfect
together.  I used  the Black and White Checked May Arts ribbon
from the Flourishes Store.. I LOVE this ribbon. The Basic Grey Rhinestones
on this card is also from the Flourishes Store.
