I created this card for last week's Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. I needed a birthday card for my daughter and thought this little Make A Wish image was perfect. The challenge is BINGO. Here are the options for your creation:

Without hearts and Valentines and all things Love-ly, February would just be another cold month between Christmas and Spring. So, of course, for our first February challenge, Catered Crop wants to give you every opportunity to share you heart.

Our featured ingredient for our next challenge is Hearts!

I chose this adorable Pure Innocence image to send to my daughter. I colored with copics and added lots of hearts. I also created a little gift for her to fit inside the mailbox. I saw this idea on Pinterest (of course) and stitched up some little gift holders. One has a pair of earrings and the other has some chocolate. Just take your wax paper and cut out 2 hearts. Stitch them together leaving a little hole if you need to and add your goodies. For the earrings I just put them on the inside first and stitched around. I think I needed to change my needle but I love this idea.

Playing along is easy as A-B-C, 1-2-3, baby you and me.

Just use a heart somewhere in your project.

If there was ever an Easter set to fall in love this IS that set. I am in awe of Marcy's talents and the fine detail in this stamp set. I chose to keep mine simple this week but watch out because you are going to see a lot of this set. It is absolutely stunning.

I stamped my Lily images out onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and added just a touch of color to the centers. I then cut them all out and popped them up. I used some Basic Grey Origins Paper for my back ground. I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals and the Labels 23 die to cut out my card base. I used my Grand Calibur to cut out the Labels 23 die.

You Have Been Framed..Flourishes Noon Time Challenge

It is time for Flourishes Noon Time Challenge. Today the challenge is to make a card with a frame by using your dies and your stamps to create that frame. I chose the cherries in the Tiny Flowers and Tags set and also used Flourishes Cherries and Peaches set.

I love how this card turned out. I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I used the Tiny Flowers and Tag with the cherries stamp and the XO's. I also used the new Taylor-Made Classic Tag Dies:

I created my frame by using my Spellbinder's Classic Circle dies.

To color the cherries and leaves I used Flourishes Copics Collection:

Flourishes Tiny Flowers and Tags

This set is a sure to please. It has a fantastic die set that goes with the Tiny Flowers making your coordinating of your stamps and dies as easy as can be. Introducing the Tailor-Made Dies Classic Tag Set:

For my card I chose the tag and stamped my sentiment inside. I used the small strawberry that comes with this set as my focal point and stamped it around in a circle adding a Basic Grey Button to the inside. I created my own designer paper with Flourishes Strawberry set. I also stamped everything out onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I added some May Arts Ivory Lace to my gingham ribbon.

Flourishes Calla Lilies

Today kicks off the first day of the peeks at the February Flourishes New Release. Believe me it is sure to be a delight. The set we are showcasing today is called Calla Lilies.

So many times I have wanted just the right sentiment for a "prayful" card. Well this is the best of both worlds because the lilies are so perfect and the sentiments are wonderful.
I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored with Flourishes Copics Collection:

I then cut out my Calla Lilies. I used the Taylor Made Classic Keyhole die for my sentiment. I also used Spellbinders Label 21 die that I cut out with my Grand Calibur machine. I added some pretty pink ribbon and pearl swearls.

Flourishes Release Week Challenge

It is time already for another Flourishes Release Week Challenge. This past month went by so quickly. This week the challenge for the release is a color challenge. Use Black, White and one other color to create your card. This week I chose to use Flourishes Sweet Pea set.

I forgot that we could only use one color so I just colored the leaves pink also. :) The beauty of being in control of your own art. I stamped my image on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and then colored with Flourishes Sweet Pea Copics Collection. I added some heart rhinestones from the 123 Create Sweet Nothings kit. I used my Spellbinders Label 23 and Spellbinders Classic Hearts with my Grand Calibur to cut it out.

Spring Cleaning....In The Tub

It is time for another challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil. This week's challenge is Anything Goes with the option of using this sketch created by our very own DT member Iulia.

Here is the card I created. It is my type of spring cleaning. LOL. I chose Mo's image called

In The Tub. I colored this with copics and used some of my embellishment stash. I rarely use flowers but I like the way this turned out. I did have to add my flowers to the top instead of on the bottom so that they would fit. The sentiment is computer generated..

Let It Snowman and Blog Candy Reminder

My February celebration continues..

How would you like to win a snowman? I have one just for you. Leave me a comment as to the largest snowfall you have ever witnessed in inches. I would have to say mine was in the 70's. I think we got around 20 inches. We couldn't even see out of our window. So leave me a comment.

This blog candy ends February 11th 2011.

With the start of a new year I wanted to breath some life into my old sewing machine. Now when I say old I mean 20 years old. It no longer will zigzag but it created this birthday present for a dear friend. We share a love for snowmen so I wanted to find a pattern that would let release some pent up sewing needs.

I found this pattern online from Country Whims. I LOVE all of her patterns. This one is called

Feed The Birds and is available on her website.. HERE.

I added a felt heart and some little twigs I had in my stash. I love that his arms are tied in the middle to hold the heart.

I added a scarf, button eyes, felt hat and this curly nose. This was a work of heart that I really enjoyed. I have 10 more cut out to make as Christmas gifts next year. The Country Whims pattern is a small snowman so I redrew the pattern to make mine bigger.

I painted my fabric with Modge Podge and then sprinkled glass glitter on the fabric to complete my little guy.

Sadie's Crockpot Applesauce and Blog Candy

It is time for another Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. This week the challenge is to use

"A Few of Your Favorite Things".

This was an easy one for me. This Sadie's Apples from Mo's Digital Pencil is one of my favorite Mo images. I used Copics to color her which are also my favorite coloring medium. Then I added some heart buttons. Who doesn't like buttons.

Lastly, I turned it into a recipe card with one of my favorite recipes. This is such an easy recipe and it tastes YUMMY.

8 yellow delicious apples cored, peeled and sliced.

5 tsp. light brown sugar

A cinnamon stick or a tsp of cinnamon (this is optional)

Add it all to a crockpot on low and cook 6-8 hours. Your house will smell divine. I stir mine and mash the apples as they get softer. Then when they have cooked I add them to my blender and blend it to an applesauce consistency. Please note that if you make this in your crockpot and it is white it will stain your pot. Ask me how I know. You can also cook this on low on your stove top too.

Then I add it to my canning jars and refrigerate. It must be refrigerated unless you are actually going to can it with a cooker which properly seals it.

Here is my recipe book I use. It is a Lang binder. I just love it.

Catered Crop Recipe Swap and Blog Candy

The Catered Crop Designers are at it again. If books are your constant companion, you're going to love our next challenge. We're going to get creative with the printed word because our featured ingredient is Print!

I chose the Flourishes sets Seeds of Friendship and Sweet Days of Summer for my card. As you can see I used My Mind's Eye Blush paper because it has a printed piece in it that reminded me of newsprint. I added 2 punched and stitched 3D hearts to add some dimension. I stamped my images out onto watercolor paper and painted with Tim Holtz's distress ink Tea Dye. I added a lot of distressing and a heart doily behind my main panel.

Playing along is easy as A-B-C.

I wanted to take a minute and thank all of you for answering my survey. It means so much to me. It has given me the opportunity to explore some options at My Stamping Thyme.

The survey was very interesting. I got some great feedback not only from your comments but also from the survey. Here are some of the results and the answers:

*Followers: Almost everyone that answered my survey followed my blog. I was really happy about that. I am over 500 followers now and will be giving away a blog candy starting Feb. 1st so stay tuned.

* Variety: When I asked about more variety your answers were 75% would love to hear about my sewing, reading, cooking recipes etc. 25% said they only come for stamping.

*Color Challenge: If I sponsored a monthly color challenge with a gift certificate would you be interested or are there already too many challenges out there. 75% said they would participate 25% said they would not.

*Tutorials: I had many many many requests for video or picture tutorials on my Copics coloring. This one I will have to work on. I have created several video tutorials for DTs and found it was very time consuming. I will work on this one. I can also give some helpful hints along the way.

*Pinterest: I was also very surprised at this. 53% said they were a member of Pinterest and 47% were not. It is a fabulous site. Not only does it have amazing card designs but also has so much crafty goodness, style, books to read, home ideas, and most anything you can think of. It is a big picture board with a link to where the picture came from. You can create a board of your own and 'pin' the picture to your board. Great way to recall and save. Just love it. Right now you have to request an invitation to join OR you can find someone that can add you as a friend and then you can get on pretty quickly. Check it out. Flourishes now has lots of inspiration there and is going to be hosting a challenge too.

I follow a bolg where the gal adds recepie she cooks all the time that turned out well that week... nothing fancy just good food.

From The Heart and a simple tutorial

It is time for Flourishes Friday post. This week I chose to use the newly released set From The Heart. This set is so lovely. It was illustrated by Becky Fleck. So many possibilities..

I stamped the heart onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. All of the embellishments and paper you see here are from the new 123 Sweet Nothings Create Kit. I took the little heart embellishments from Prima in this kit and created my own stick pins. Super easy.

Just take a pair of wire snips and cut off the head of a sewing pin. Then add two hearts one on each side of the pin. I hot glued mine in place. It is like a sandwich with the pin in the middle.

Then I cut out my From The Heart with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped heart with my Grand Calibur. I used the Spellbinders Heart die to cut out a felt heart for my stick pins. Super easy embellishment.

Porky Love

It is time for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. This week the challenge is stitching. It can be either faux stitching, real stitching or an embellishment with stitching. This adorable little guy is called

You're Kinda Cute. It is available over at Mo's Digital Pencil Store. I colored with Copics. I added a Dritz tape measure that has the same little pin cushion on it. I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.

A little hint about sewing around the edges. Sew around the edge of your image at about a 1/4 of an inch from the edge. Then trim right up to the stiching. That way if your stitching is a little crooked you won't be able to tell. Also change your needle often. The paper tends to dull the needle quickly.

I have loved creating this blog. It has given me an outlet for my creativity but I think it is time for some changes. Quite honestly I think my blog has become boring. Love Sweet Love...that is the name of this fabulous new Flourishes set. Candy, cookies and flowers are popular Valentine gifts. This set has them all covered.

I chose the new 123 Create Kit Sweet Nothings as my starting point.

I used the Kaisercraft paper, ribbon and the hearts from this kit. It is such a pretty paper pack. I stamped my image onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I used Spellbinders Circle, Labels 13 and 22 dies for my layering. I softly colored the candy with Flourishes Copics Collection Sweet Pea.

Hello and welcome to day one of Flourishes' fabulous sneak peeks for January! We have three new sets coming your way designed to deliver a little love to someone else's life! The calendar might say winter but we're sure these Valentine sets will WARM your heart!

Introducing...

This classic set -- called From the Heart -- penned by Becky Fleck offers an antique flavor for Valentine's Day! An ornate heart stands as a focal point and is a perfect companion to Spellbinders Classic Heart Nestabilities die (S4-136) and Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart Nestabilities Dies (S4-137). A curled banner is the perfect accent -- allowing a few of the sentiments to be stamped inside!

I chose to keep my card simple to show off the elegant detail of this ornate heart. I colored with the Flourishes Copics Collection:

I stamped the heart and banner onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I finished it off with some white wrinkle ribbon and a jet black rhinestone flourishes.

Catered Crop Button Challenge

I think I got the buttons covered. I added them to my snow mounds and a little string between her hands. I needed some thank you cards and thought this would work perfectly.

We are starting off the new year with a Release Week challenge. This month we are

ringing in the new year with “Father Time” or “Baby New Year” – this challenge is a fight between new and old!

What better card to showcase a baby than Baby Love. This set is so sweet. I had fun creating a baby boy card for my son's pitching coach.

Today for our Friday Focus over at Flourishes we are all decorating these little tins. I just could not wait to get this project started. I wanted to create a little sewing kit with mine. I chose the Flourishes Feminine Charm dress form for my kit cover. I used the My Mind's Eye Blush Designer paper and Buttons.

I found a little sewing kit at my local fabric store and added it to my tin. I think I will keep this in my desk for those just in case moments when you need a little needle and thread.

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful stamping friends. By the time you are reading this I am walking into my Dad's home surprising him on Christmas day. I haven't been to his house in 3 years for the holidays. It will be a joyous day. My entire family will be there. I am so excited.

It is time for another Mo's Digital Pencil challenge. This week the challenge is "Fabric of Our Lives".

When I think of all the 'fabric' in my life I think of my family. Not just my human family but man's best friend kind of family too. This card was made for my daughter. She has an Australian Shepherd. She is the sweetest puppy. I tried to photograph her with her Santa hat on but she was having none of that.

So I used her as my inspiration. I chose Mo's Digital Pencil Christmas Sheep Dog With Hat.

One of my favorite fruits to eat are pears so it goes without saying how much I love this set. This stamp is Marcella's signature style making it easy to color. I chose the green/red pear colors to coordinate with my paper and ribbon.

It is time for Flourishes final release for 2011. We are going out with a bang this year. I am loving the sets we have for you this month. This set is called Snow Wonderful.

I love this wintery scene. It reminds me of my dad's cabin in the woods of Central WI. I used the Classic Keynote die and my Grand Calibur to cut out my main image. Then I colored with Flourishes Copics Collections: Flesh Tones, Evergreens, and Water. The paper is from the .. collection.

For my card today I used the Flourishes Lace and Trim set. I wanted to stamp in white but my white ink pad was dry so I had to switch gears. This stamp set is on sale right now for just $10.. Check it out HERE.

Do you love the look of fancy lace and delicate trims? This stamp set is for you! Great to use as borders, in place of ribbon, or even as a background. I also used the pretty Cotton Ecru Trim from Flourishes.

I have also been working on some Christmas gifts. I created some tags for my gifts. This one was created using the Petals and Peace set stamped on kraft with the flower bleached out and then once dry I colored it with Copics. I used the Tailor Made Classic Keynote Die and my Grand Calibur to cut out my tag.

Snowman Tag

The weeks in December just seem to fly by. It is time for another Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. This week the theme is to add a tag or banner. I really struggled to figure this card out. I tore it apart several times. May need some extra glue before I send it out. I chose Mo's Snowman image for my tag card. Computer generated sentiment cut into a tag completes the challenge.

We just missed the first snow here in North Carolina. Oh how my son would love to be doing this right now instead of being in school. This week at Mo's Digital Pencil the theme is "The Great Outdoors". I chose Toboggan as my image. Colored with copics and added some fake snow and glitzy gems for snowflakes.

It is time for another challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is to create a card or project with Elves, Fairies, or Santa. I chose North Pole Employees from Mo's store. I colored with Copics and used some bling here and there.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday weekend. I sure am. Although I am not home with my family and friends I cooked up a turkey and got my entire house decorated on my day off. It feels so good to have that done. Now I need to finish up shopping and call it good for December. It is always my goal to get it all done before December 1st. :) Have a great weekend.

Today is a very special day at Flourishes. It has been a week full of anticipation and excitement. We are celebrating our Team Leader Julie Koerber's birthday with a little surprise birthday blog hop. The teams at Flourishes could not ask for a better person to take on this task of team leader. Not only does she lead the Flourish teams, she also does so much behind the scenes. Whether it be sending out a prayer request, coming up with design ideas or supporting us in so many ways she knocks it out of the park each and every month. I had the pleasure and honor of meeting Julie 2 summers ago at CHA. Not only is she a superstar at Flourishes but she is also an amazing person inside and out. Happy birthday Julie. We all love you and treasure you each and every day.

Dear Santa....

The week after Release is always a fun week to create with all your new stamp sets. The new Sentimental Christmas are perfect for the Santa, I Believe set. I had so many requests a few weeks ago for a little tutorial on how to color this Santa I thought I would give you a few tips. Here are the things you will need:

I took my Santa's face and put it on a large block. Then I brayered the Distress Ink all over the stamp. I put my paper on a craft foam pad and stamped the image. This gives it a clean crisp image. Laura Fredrickson had given me this team last year.

As you can see he is now ready to color. I chose the Flourishes Flesh Tone Copics Collections

Only color the shaded areas. Don't color the white parts. I then added some Prisma Pencil highlights. I used Scarlet Lake on his chin and lips for added depth. I took a Cool Grey Prisma Pencil and started to add dark lines to the eyes and glasses. I colored in the eyes with Copics B04. By adding the grey pencil I think it defines the eyes and glasses.

I used the newly released Sentimental Christmas stamp set for my sentiment. I also used the black rhinestones and pretty wrinkled ribbon Flourishes has in their store.

Winifred in Winter

Where has this week gone. I am excited that it had gone fast but I wish I had gotten a few more things done before my sweet daughter gets here tonight at the midnight hour. I am to old for that but really looking forward to some girlie time.

This week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog the challenge theme is to create a Winter creation. I have always wanted a red door but I guess I have to just have one in my dreams as hubby says he doesn't like red. It wouldn't look good on our red brick house anyway but a girl can dream. I merged Mo's Door With Wreath and Winifred together. I colored with my copics. Took forever to color that door.

This week over at Mo's Digital Pencil the challenge is to create a card with a unique fold..EEKS. I panicked.

Then I remembered this tutorial over at SCS. I really like this easy fold and will definitely be trying it again. This image is Timmy's Stocking from Mo's Digital Pencil. Flourishes Day 4 New Release-The First Noel

Welcome to Day 4 of Flourishes New Release. Today we are showing you this beautiful new silhouette stamp called The First Noel. This set will long be my go to set for Christmas stamping. I just love the image and that it portrays the real reason for this season.

I stamped my image out onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. Then I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I added just a small touch of chalk to the sky and the manger area to give it some highlight. I used my Spellbinders Label 23 for my card shape. I added some black rhinestones and stamped out my sentiment. I added a Crystal Sparklet for just a little bit of bling. A pretty simple card.

Welcome to day 3 of Flourishes New Release. Today we are showing you the next set called Joy Is In The Air. This set brings back memories of when my daughters were little. We have a large snow globe collection and they would sit and shake them to watch the snow fall.

I stamped my image out onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. Then I embossed the image. I colored the globe and image in with Flourishes Copics Collections:

Santa I Believe

It is time for another Flourishes Release Week Challenge. This month many of you have experienced SNOW already. Grab your Flourishes stamps and create a card with a snowy touch.

I chose Flourishes Santa, I Believe set. I have been wanting to revisit this set because it is one of my favorites. Last year Laura Fredrickson gave me a few helpful hints on stamping this image out. It really helped alot. When stamping she used a brayer with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Just ink up your brayer and then ink the stamp with the brayer. I did this several times in different directions. Each time reloading my brayer with ink. I then colored with Flourishes Copic Collection:

I added some Flower Soft in Polar White for his hat fur. I also embellished with May Arts Two Toned Ribbon, Toile Lurex Gold Ribbon (LOVE THIS STUFF) and Crystal Sparklets. I used the Memory Box Yuletide Paper.

It sparkles, shines and glistens on the landscape. Let's capture some of that snowy sparkle on our cards and creations. Use glitter, Flower Soft or any kind of bling that offers up a snowy feel. FLLCNOV11. Deadline is November 11th at 5 PM Eastern.

Fall Kitty

Today at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge the challenge is to create a Thank You/Giving Thanks card.

I chose Mo's Digital Pencil's Fall Kitten. I printed out the image and added the extra leaves around the kitten. I colored the leaves and kitty with Copics. I printed out the kitten in a light grey and then colored with my W series Copics. I love the softness it gave her.

This month over at Splitcoaststampers they have a Hope You Can Cling to challenge. I have been wanting to join in on the fun. I chose Teresa's challenge to add a heart to your creation. This sweet image and paper is from Tiddly Inks. One of my favorite digi companies. This image is called You Are On My Mind.

Face The Sun

Turn your face towards the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.. Don't you love that quote.

Today is another Free For All day at Flourishes. I wanted to show you a neat technique that I saw Beate John's demonstrate over at SCS. It is called Bleached Out Images..

I stamped my Flourishes Sunflower set onto Kraft paper. Then I embossed it with Clear Embossing powder. After it cooled I took a Q-Tip dipped in bleach and painted the inside of the petals and leaves. I let it dry and colored with Copics. Here is a picture of the bleached flower.

This is before I blended all my colors on the image. I just love the vibrancy you get with this technique. A few important tips:

Be sure to use clear embossing powder so you don't ruin your Copics.

Make sure the bleach is dry before you color with your Copics or you will ruin the tip.

Be careful around the edges of your image and don't use too much bleach or it will bleed outside the lines.

It is time for another Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. I can't believe that it has been 2 years that I have had the pleasure of designing on Mo's Challenge team. This week Elaine is challenging us to create a card. with any holiday or celebration image .

I chose the image Boughs For The Tree from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love this image. It reminds me of the days when my kids would all gather at a tree farm and as a family we would pick out a Christmas tree. Then we would go back to the barn and drink hot chocolate to warm up.

Season Of Celebrations

This week at Flourishes we are again showcasing all the new stamps sets. I love this Season Of Celebrations because it evokes so many childhood memories for me. I remember that exciting feeling of Christmas morning when we would race downstairs to rip open our presents.

Pumpkins

This week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Elaine is our hostess. She is challenging us to use our favorite Mo image with a sentiment. Now that was a hard decision. BUT I love pumpkins and this image by Mo is perfect for this time of year. I love pumpkin pie, latte, cookies, bread etc etc so I chose this image for the challenge.

I colored with Copics and created a round card. I added some round ribbon flowers and lots of buttons.

The Show Me Challenge

Well, last release, we challenged players to come up with a fun and unique twist on a challenge, suggest it and they could win a chance to be in the Flourishes spotlight – not only would their challenge be picked, they would be the superstar of the day ushering one of our noon time release week challenges as well!

I chose Amanda Havon's tutorial from this week's Limelight. She posted a tutorial on how to make a luminary. I didn't do mine exactly like hers because I could not find the same luminary she used. I took a glass candle holder, some faux tea lights, and some mulberry paper and created my own box. I think next time I will chose a mulberry paper without so much pattern. I stamped on the paper with the new set called Season Of Celebrations. Then I embossed the image to give it a dark look.

I added the faux candles and my luminary was all ready to go. Sorry about the poor photography. It has been raining for days here and it tough to get a good picture. Thanks Linda for a great challenge and Amanda for a wonderful tutorial. I got one Christmas gift checked off my list.

Season Of Celebrations

Today is day 3 of Flourishes New Release Week. This set called Season Of Celebrations ushers in that feeling of Christmas. Did you know it is only 72 days until Christmas? That is 10 weeks from now we will be preparing our packages and decorating our trees. This set brings back all the great feelings that Christmas and winter evokes.

When we were kids we used to spend hours sledding and ice skating. My dad would build a big bonfire to keep us warm. I wanted to capture sledding as sunset when you could no longer feel your toes but didn't want to quit.

I stamped my image and embossed it on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. The ribbon, lace trim, button, pearls and paper are all part of the newest 123 Create Kit. I am giving you an early peek at it. I LOVE these kits. They make it so much easier to create. I used the Spellbinders Oval Dies and the Labels 14 Die. These shapes were all cut out with my Grand Calibur.

Meet My Under The Mistletoe

Welcome to Day 2 of Flourishes New Release Week. I can't wait until you get to see this set in its entirety. It is so pretty. I have always loved the Mistletoe and how it can bring that magical feel of Christmas to your holiday.

I stamped my image onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored with Copic Collections Fuchsia and Green Grass. I used the Spellbinders Ovals, Beaded Ovals and the..Labels 17 for my card base. I cut all my shapes out with my Grand Calibur. The designer paper is from the Yuletide Collection from Memory Box. This fabulous two toned ribbon goes perfectly with this paper. I added some bling from the Say It in Pearls from Prima.

Holiday Sparkle

Today the Senior Design team is joining in with the very talented Friends of Flourishes Tuesday Challenge team for the release of this fabulous set. The challenge today is to create an ornament or a card with an ornament. You can read up on this week's fun filled challenge HERE. I used the pretty new Prima paper called North Country. I added the Crystal Sparklets to my card panel for some extra bling. There are so many ornaments in this set and I colored 3 of them and cut them out. I stamped my pine tree boughs in the background and popped up my ornaments.

If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. I have followed Katie's blog from the very beginning of this journey. I admire her courage and strength at a time when I would have folded completely. I created this card with my son doing all the coloring. As he was working on this picture I just kept thinking about Katie and her boys and all that they must be feeling at this time. I am humbled by her attitude and courage. Keep on swimming Katie we all love you.

Heavy Metal Poinsettia

It is time for another Flourishes Release Week Challenge.

Our challenge is to go "Heavy Metal". Create a card with metal somewhere on it. I chose the Flourishes' Poinsettia and Boxwood set. I wanted to use some soft muted colors for my creation today. I rarely use softness. I embossed my petals and leaves in gold embossing powder.

I added lots of bling to the edges of my Spellbinder's Teardrop Circle Die. I added some of the beautiful Victorian Websters Estate Polka Lace and trim from the Flourishes ribbon section. I used the MME Blush designer paper in keeping with a neutral color. The poinsettia was stamped on watercolor paper and watercolored with markers.

Patchwork Quilt

Today at Mo's Digital Pencil the theme is to create a card with patchwork.
I chose Mo's Kai In Leaves and

Mummu's Laundry .. I remember my grandma hanging out her hand crafted quilts on the line on a fall day just like this. I merged the two images in Photoshop Elements. This adorable stand was given to me by my sweet friend Grace for my birthday one year. Her husband made it for me with her help.

World Card Making Day Challenge

In honor of World Card Making Day on Saturday, October 1st, we're kicking
things off one day early in a wild and wacky fashion! Have we got a challenge
for you! It's all about that inner kid and why we love card making in general -
we get to be creative! So, think like a kid and share your favorite animated
character. Find a picture of that character and then, be inspired by the colors

As you can see I picked Minnie.. She is one of my favorite cartoon characters. I thought that the Apple Of My Eye was the perfect set to use for my inspired card. I used the MME Rosy paper for my colors on this card. I wanted to use black, white, red and yellow. I also chose the Spellbinders Teardrop Circles and Grand Nestibility Label 23 die. The buttons are from the Rosy and Boyish Collection and ribbon from May Road. I colored my image with the Flourishes Copics Collections Fuchia and Spring Greens.

Furry Friends

It is time for a new Mo's challenge today. This week the challenge is to create a card with a "Furry Friend". I have always loved this Girl and Dog image from Mo's Digital Pencil. She is so sweet carrying Bella. I colored with copics and added a crocheted heart and my favorite gingham ribbon.
