Banana Split Sunday Spell It Out

Tomorrow is Banana Split Sunday over at 2RedBanana's blog. This week you are challenged to use alphabet stickers on your creation. I love this adorable little Penny's Mushroom. She is illustrated by Mindy Baxter. It reminds of my daughter when she was little. This image is available at 2RedBanana's online store.

This awesome paper and ribbon is from my sweet friend Traci. I won her blog candy and she sent me a package of all kinds of goodies. Thanks Traci. Come play along.....

On a personal note. I am taking a short blog break. I have been feeling under the weather and I have a very busy month coming up. I have a big announcement on August 1st that I am soooo excited about. I am also getting a fantastic blog candy ready for all of you that you will not want to miss. Thanks so much for visiting.

Be back on August 1st..

Today is the kick off for the Dare To Get Dirty with the Splitcoaststamper's Dirty girls. Jen challenged us to make a card with a tag. I also created this for a friendly little challenge with some Twisted Sisters. This week's challenge was to make a food related card with ribbon, punch, dots, scallops and it had to be orange. I think I got all but the dots covered. Come join the fun over at SCS....

Teapot Tuesday

Cindy Motherway does a really fun challenge on her blog each Tuesday. She gives you a teapot and a story to be inspired by. This week it was a snail teapot. We all take a trip with her teapot too. This week we were to go to the Tour De France. I love Lance Armstrong's will and determination. I was sad to see him injured in this race. The journey for him must be incredible. Anyway, Cindy was watching the race and saw a huge group of snails crossing the road. Hence, her teapot challenge this week is a snail teapot. Here is all the info:

Banana Split Sunday

Today is Banana Split Sunday. This week we have a fun challenge for you. Reduse and reuse for your card creation. I chose the More Quotes Set to create my card. I love this set. It has some great quotes. I then chose a newspaper article from my local newspaper. I sponged and grunged around the edges. I then added my newspaper flower embellishment. To create this flower I used my SU circle scallop punch. I punched from the newspaper 8 scallops. I stapled them in the middle. Snipped into the center all the way around. Then scrunched it up with my hand into a ball. Carefully unfolded and viola.. a flower. I sponged a bit around the edges. The little bit of wire bling is a left over from a wedding I attended. These were on the table center pieces. Don't worry. I asked the bride first before I packed it in my suitcase..LOL.

Come join us for the fun....

It is a fun group of SCSers that are inspired by a teapot. This week my sweet friend Kris provided a picture of the cutest teapot. Visit Cindy's glob for a close up picture and come join the fun...

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE

I created this card for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. We were to create a card with NO coloring. I added just a touch of color with my red. This was a fun challenge. I needed an anniversary card for my friend. I used SU rubons for the sentiment. I just got my new Paper Craft Magazine. They were saying that buttons are all the rage this year. I love buttons. I used a faux grid background and dazzling diamonds on her dress and veil. It is hard to see. Hope you have a super day. Come join the fun...

BANANA SPLIT SUNDAY

I am honored and so pleased to be asked to be a guest designer for 2RedBananas. I created this card using a new set that will be available July 15th. It is called July Journaling Spot and I LOVE it. We just recently moved closer to the ocean and I find so much inspiration at the beach. I created this scene with Baja Breeze and Creamy Caramel inks. I embossed the image panel with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear embossing powder. I used my distress stripes embossing folder for the back panel. This sentiment has got to be one of my favorites.

Here is the sketch we were to use. I left off the embellishments and added the seashells at the bottom instead.

Christmas In July

Today's Way's to use it challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to create a Christmas card in July. As I was coloring this image my son peeked over my shoulder and said "Why are you coloring Santa when it is summer time?" I told him you never know when Santa might be watching. He has since then cleaned his room and taken a shower without his usual complaining. I think it worked...LOL.

I love this Whipper Snapper Design image. It is so precious. Have a terrific day...

Monday, July 6, 2009

I created this card for the 2 different challenges. This last week the Twisted Sisters were to create a card with a "fruity" theme and you must use a ribbon and a punch. I chose this sweet little Splish Splash Citrus Bath image that was a RAK from my friend Grace. I colored with Prismapencils and added glitter and crystal effects to the glass.

I also wanted to create a card for the House Mouse and Friends Monday blog challenge. This week we were to create a "seasoned" card. I think this image screams summertime. It is hot and humid here. If you would like to play check out the blog on my side bar.

Have a super day.

Cooped

I hope you are all having a terrific and relaxing weekend. It is gorgeous here. It seems like ages since I created a card. I wanted to play along in the Clear Dollar Stamp's weekend color challenge. The challenge called for Barely Banana, Baja Breeze, and Real Red. I love these colors. I rarely use yellows. The designer paper is a small scrap of Urbain Prairie Weather Vane.
I chose the Farm Critter set. I needed a card for my step mom. I also wanted to join in on the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. We were to use the sight Posters.com. Great sight.

Come join in the fun in the weekend color challenge. Find the details here:
