Thank You Lisa

I created this card for the challenge over on Just Magnolia. We were to use Animals or Insects. I thought a bird may qualify for an animal. I got this wonderful bird brad from my friend Lisa. She won a gift certificate to her local craft store and she made me a care package from all her goodies. She sent the brad, the button, the stickles on her heart basket, and this awesome ribbon. I masked this image and added the bird to her hand. Thanks Lisa. Your friendship warms my heart...Hugs.

Strawberry Jam

I created this card for the Penny Black Challenge and the Ways To Use it challenge on SCS. Both were to use buttons. I love this image. When I was a little girl my mom would pick strawberries and we would make frozen strawberry jam. The entire house would smell of cooking strawberries. Such a great memory.

Want to join the Penny Black Saturday Challenge check it out HERE.

I am off to a strawberry patch field trip with my son. I guess that is what got me in the mood to make a strawberry card. Have a great day....

I love this paper. It is so pretty. I rarely use yellows. It is urban prairie from Basic Grey. I coordinated it with Bo-Bunny's Back to Backs. Stitched around the edges and added a punched flower and button. This one is in the mail....

MariLynn's Quilled Flower Tutorial

My friend MariLynn has created this amazing tutorial for the quilled flowers you see on the above cards. The second card is a card she sent to me for my birthday. They are so easy... Read on

Tools: Glue, Scissors, 1 inch punch, 1/4 in punch (hers is a flower), quilling tool or large paper clip and a small piece of cardstock.

A quilling tool has a handle with a top that has a slit. They can be purchased at most craft stores for under $5.

If you do not have a quilling tool you can use a paper clip. Unfold it into a straight line and with a pair of pliers make a tight U on one end.

Take your 1 in paper punch and punch out a 1 in circle.

Use the 1/4 in punch to punch the center of your 1 in circle. Save this piece, as it will be used at the end to make the base of the flower. Starting at the edge of the circle cut towards the center punch making a spiral cut..

Slide the end of the spiral into the quilling tool or paper clip U. Start rolling the tool so that the paper rolls up around the tool.

Here is your spiral rolled up around the tool or paper clip.

Carefully slide the paper off the tool or paperclip and add glue to the end. Using light pressure, hold the glued edge against the rest of the flower for about a minute or until the glue takes hold.

Take the small piece you saved from the punched middle and glue it to the bottom of your flower. That will give it a good strong base.

FINISHED. You can glue this to any project by added a drop of glue to the base or using sticky dots or dimensionals.

If you have any questions let me know... I will send you to Marilynn..hehe..

Have a great day,
